Probably my all time favourite comedy. I read that Stern wanted to do a 10th anniversary DVD but Paramount weren't having any of it.

What chance a BR transfer if that is true?

I would be surprised if we ever see this on Blu-Ray, but god would I love to see this.

Maybe in a few years when Howard is retired, he'll work with the studio to record a commentary and get it released.

Yeah, I'd love to see Howard, Robin, and Fred do a commentary together on this one. It'd be like listening to them on the radio.. which is pretty strange when you think about it. And have a separate track with Reitman as well (not totally necessary).

I saw this in the theatre when it was released, and have the dvd...love it! I'm pretty sure I saw this, maybe early last year, OTA HD. Not much, but hopefully it means a BD is in the works!
You figure as savy a businessman Stern is, he'd be all over this. As I'm sure he'd get some royalties from it's release.
Someone should call into the show and ask him...I'd wager he would talk about it for a few minutes.

I bought one of those MegaMillions tickets this past week. In my fantasy of actually winning I told my wife that when they do that winners press conference I was going to start off by saying "BabaBooey" .

He once said he wanted to buy the rights and do a deluxe edition on dvd, but Paramount turned him doing stating that if it sold well it would make them ( the studio) look like a bunch of idiots.

At least paramount should re-release this title in anamorphic widescreen, instead of the junk non-anamorphic crap they have now.

I would definitely buy this. My late uncle took me to see this on opening weekend, and I thought it was fantastic. I had never actually listened to Stern on the radio, but I was familiar with him from his E! show. A few years later, I ended up becoming a radio personality for a classic rock station, so maybe this movie has some silent impact on that. Also, several years ago, I was visiting a radio friend in Cleveland and I got the opportunity to meet the real Pig Vomit. Nice guy. Didn't ask him about Stern though. I didn't want to be called "a motherf___ing Antichrist!!"

Like you, I would buy this day1 to upgrade my dvd. I'm kind of surprised it hasn't happened already. Stern, is a pretty big name and you'd think a large portion of his legion of loyal fans would purchase this. Hope it happens someday soon!

I just watched the DVD of Private Parts again. When the hell are they going to put this out on blu-ray?
