Default Howard Stern has Blu-ray

May not be much, but I heard Howard Stern mention on the air today that he has a Blu-Ray player...

Hey that's cool, any celebrities that have it, and can tout it will very likely influence their listeners or fans.

I haven't heard the whole show today, but heard Robin talking about HD in the news segment.

Actually, Sony should throw a few blu-ray players Stern's way to give away on the show as they are good on getting the word out on things, and Stern has a dedicated and motivated audience.

The news segment was pretty much it. Howard mentioned how he is one of those people HD doesn't really matter to, but he has a Blu-Ray player. Any mention on air is better than none. And he doesn't have a HD-DVD player...

I agree, if the BDA gave Howard some players to talk about on the air it would motivate a whole new segment of the population to buy them.

Those type of "mentions" are fantastic news for us. Hopefully he will keep mentioning it!

I've been waiting for a long time for one of those HS staffers to mention Blu-ray. Howard and Robin always talk about movies; Artie is building a home theater in his new house, and Gary built a home theater in his new house and was featured in a hidef magazine. It’s really good news if Howard spreads the word to his 8.3 million listeners.

I have been waiting for them to bring up hdm for a while as well. It drives me crazy when i hear all of them talking about movies constantly and not metioning blu ray. I know robin has been a movie fanatic for a while and was an early adopter of laser disc back in the late 80's early 90's. Baba boooey has a recurring colum in sound and vision so i assumed he would bring it up at some point, it was disappointing when he listed a 3000 capacity dvd server as his Christmas wish.

I mean it isn't like they are hurting for cash. When i heard Artie talking about building a media room in his new Jersey shore house i was wondering if it would be all set up with hdm.

Too bad Stern's movie, PRIVATE PARTS, is a Paramount movie.

I still have the non-anamorphic DVD release of that movie. Its so great, I can't stand to depart with it even though it looks like utter crap in 1080p.

Which is why he probably also has a HD player. If I had that much money I wouldn't care about "sides" because I would buy both formats and every movie that is on them.

Stern has probably received both Blu-ray and HD players from their makers.

I didn't here him say he had both. I heard him say he had HD. I am assuming that meant HD in general. He never said HD-DVD.

Robin started to read a story about HD vs. Blu and she asked Howard about which he has and can he notice a difference.
He said that he had both and that there is a noticeable difference over non HD content.
Then robin skipped right over the story but it is on the daily rundown of the show and the story turns out to be about the Toshiba rice cuts.

He said he had both and that it didn't make a difference in picture quality, and that he was find with just having dvds.

As much as I love blu-ray, I can't see how some people are making a positive out of nothing.

He pretty much blew off both formats.
