let me tell you a little story and a predicament my friend is in.
Recently my friend came over to check my setup at my house. I was showing his some movie previews and game trailers. He was floored. I mean he hadn't been over in a while. So he was stunned. He asked me how much I paid for my ps3. $500 for the 80gb. He was so upset because he just bought an xbox for $400 but can't find the receipt. He really wants a ps3. I told him to sell it on e-bay. How much you think he could get for one of those p.o.s.'s?

haha! that sucks. looks like the premiums are going for around $250. that stings.

P.S. If it's within like 30 days the customer service at the store should be able to look up the receipt/transaction through whatever card or check he paid with. Unless it's cash, then he's SOL

Both of these are great suggestions, as long as he got it from a major retailer and used a credit card. These should be his first and second options then consider ebay or craigslist as a third. Let us know how it turns out.

I think a lot of people want a PS3. Especially all the people that may be loyal to the brand from owning a PS2 and/or a PS1. It is price of the PS3 that keeps people away. That is why you see double and triple the normal sales when the price drops on them. I perfer the hardware of the PS3 to the Xbox360. Maybe that is because I am slightly a Sony fan, but probably more so that I am on my second referb 360. Currently 360 has the better games, but the hardware is garbage. Hopefully this will change in favor of Sony so it has the better games.

there'll be an ample supply of games and even software coming...we'll be seeing them real soon just like we did in PS2 which by the way still holds the most number of games out there...

sure there are games coming..but it'll be this time next year before we're able to say we have the games to compete.

the 360 is hands down the console to have to play the best games. but, like everyone says, the 360 is obviously a pos piece of equipment.

The year head start the 360 has the the money MS drops if why it has so many games and a good selection of AAA games. But I am not going to support it anymore because of its terrible hardware. Most of the people I know that have a 360 have had some sort of issue.

microsoft is, first and foremost, a software company... so it only follows that their software is so much better than their hardware (I'm not sure if that says a lot about their software). They do have good games like Gears of War. They should just make the games and leave the console making to the pros, like Sony and Nintendo.

+1 That's the best way I've heard it summed up. Bottom line: when it comes to quality of hardware, no one tops Sony.

As a software company, their games are not that grand. Their 1st party stuff is at most alright, their 2nd party stuff is where the good are along with their 3rd party exclusives. I do not count the stuff they publish as 1st party. Gears was made by Epic and published by MS, not made by MS.
