I must say, it really gives me a good laugh when the HD-DVD costs more than the BD due to the combo disc.

Yes, you heard it right! You can buy it for just five bucks more and get the version that will play in your DVD player today, as well as the super cool high definition version that will play on the HD-DVD player that you will get next... wait... ohhh... crud. HD-DVD players are no longer being produced.

Ah well... Enjoy your DVD.

There are still a few more CGI animated movies to come out this year. Ant Bully is one of the better ones.

The best so far is Sony's Monster House. It'll be out on BD on October 24th, I think. For those in the US and lucky enough to be in the select few cities with Digital Cinema system with RealD, Monster House will be re-released again to coincide with Halloween. On digital cinema, it will be in 3D.

"Comming"?

This is good news. Hopefully Warner won't screw us over again with dropped features in comparison to their HD DVD counterparts (IME, Dolby TrueHD, etc)

Quote:
Yeah I ordered the Monster House BD for my kids already. I'm sure they'll like it and hopefully I will too.
Watch it first. It really isn't for young children (it's PG for a very good reason). It's a good movie, but may scare the little ones more than you're prepared for.

Well why didn't you say so?

The review thread over at the HTF was full of anecdotes on terrified children leaving the theaters because the film was too intense for them. 10-12 no problem, but 3-7 definately not. It's not a kids' PG like "Madagascar" or "Lilo & Stitch" was.

my 5 yr old boy sits here and watches ALien vs. Predator with me and Van Helsing. He's pretty tough!

His mom says he grinds his teeth at night when he's sleeping because I let him watch that stuff....

maybe she's right?

we laughed on PitchBlack when Riddick tells that chick
"you grind your teeth when you sleep..."Sexy"!"
we looked at eachother and said, I guess BJ (Our son) is sexy! lol

Same thing for the first "Austin Powers" film, "Office Space", "The Wizard of Oz", "It's A Wonderful Life"...the list goes on.

Either we have a troll or someone not realizing box office sometimes just doesn't matter. It was well reviewed and a lot of folks enjoyed it.

Question The Ant Bully... worth buying?

Ok, do I add to this my movie collection or not? The Amazon reviews are nice but how does it rate in story to Finding Nemo or Toy Story, etc.

Jeez when compared to Nemo and Toy Story I think it falls way short. I mean if you have little ones that like animated movies it might be worth a rental I just don't think it's worth a purchase as the movie is nothing special in my opinion (sorta like Antz very forgettable).

Story-wise it doesn't come close to Finding Nemo or Toy Story IMO. That said, my son and I enjoyed it so I got it.

Why don't you go to our review section and look up the review.

Ok, just did that. Only has 2 ratings for an average of 4. My instinct tells me to stay away. So, I'll pass on this one.
