Open Water 2 was actually an original movie they slapped the title of another movie onto, like 8MM2 or Havoc 2. That's got to suck for the filmmakers when that happens to them and their movies are still discarded into the bargain bin.

Sharks are my biggest phobia and I have never even seen the ocean. They idea of them just really bothers me...thanks Spielberg.

According to the trailer, it is going open theatrically and on demand.
Just release this straight to VOD because this looks as crappy as the alleged sequel and an obvious plot to ride the coat tails of 47 Meters Down.

The first one is a no budget, digital video masterpiece. The second is a pile of crap. This one looks okay, but there is absolutely no need for the number in the title. Mike is right, call it "Cage Dive" and open it on its own merits. Most people have never seen the original; this title will just make them skip it because they never saw the first two.

Agree with the first one. LOVED it. But hell, I enjoyed the second too though it was disappointing there wasn't a single shark in it. Still solid flick though.

Before clicking, I actually thought this was the thread for 47 Meters Down, just with an old title that was never updated. (Like how the thread title for Steve Jobs was still "Untitled Steve Jobs Movie" for months after the Blu was out.)
