Default This is a B.S. push to buy 4K equipment even to play a Blu-Ray

Skull Island
Guardians of the Galaxy 2
Get Out
Annabelle The Beginning
War for the Planet of the Apes

None of these Blu-Ray discs will play in my player. The players software is up-to-date and the player is connected to the internet. Still, have to watch them in the PlayStation.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rings

Plays no problem in my player and is a movie no one cares about.

Care to elaborate? What player model are you using?

If your BD player is a Samsung or Vizio then it is not surprising.

Sorry, folks. It is a Samsung but the model number is not available to me at the moment. I am watching the new Apes movie.

I realize this may be in the wrong section, but I was bitter and just found the first place I felt was reasonable.

Sounds like your player is junk. Take off the tin foil hat and get a new player. Problem solved.

Sounds like an issue with your player. Nothing to do with a conspiracy theory to make you buy new equipment.

I will never buy a Samsung player again. Had two that didn't last long. I think a year tops.

If you knew how long it took me to block this hat you wouldn't be so quick to take it off either. =)

Samsung has had countless issues with their BD players over the years.

My first BD player was a Samsung. It worked for a few years, then it would only intermittently play discs. And the apps were buggy too. Real piece of junk.

My Samsung television is amazing and won television of the year on a lot of sites, but yes their BD and UHD players seem to be shite.

P.S. The studios are trying to push people to UHD, using exclusive Atmos and new masters, but not by sabotaging old players.

Samsung players and TVs are crap. Sony by far makes the best TVs. Even the 800 series Sony is better than Samsung Q9 series. I have owned both Samsung and Sony and Sony has more life like image. I have the following 75" Sony 940C, 82" Samsung MU8000, and used to own the Somy 75" 850C till I 'upgraded' to Samsung 82"

Also seems like a problem with the player. I have no issues with these movies.

Remember back around 2009-2010 Samsung sold those players that seemed to overheat and cause skipping issues? I remember a ton of members here complaining about it.

Lol so they work in your Playstation 3/4 (neither of which play UHD discs) but it is somehow a conspiracy to get you to buy a UHD player?

The good news is that standard (non-4K) players are cheap these days, and you already have a playstation of some sort anyway.
