Default Graphics Card upgrade recommendation for HP Pavilion s5610f

I'm getting a referb Lenovo Thinkcentere desktop with good specs for video editin' and win 7 pro 64bit, as I WILL NOT TOUCH WINDOWS SPYWARE 10 WITH A 9000 FT POLE! When it comes in the Lenovo and proves reliable, it will be my main unit to replace my peppy but kinda sluggish HP Pavilion s5610f Slimline Desktop. However, I still want to keep the HP around as its wayyyy better than my acer lappy which is on its last legs. I plan to put some things like a graphics card in the Pavilion, maybe fool around it with a bit since it wont matter what happens if I flick something up on it LOL.

HP's specs are:

H-Apricot-RS780L-uATX Motherboard

AMD Athlon II X2 250 Dual Core 3.0GHZ Processor

two DDR3 DIMM (240-pin) sockets with 8GBs of RAM (upgraded from a measly 3GBs LOL)

64bit Windows 7 Home Premium preinstalled (OEM)

ATI Radeon 3000 Integrated Graphics

640GB Hard Drive SATA 7200RPM

Is it possible to shove in a graphics card into it? I was told that it has to be low profile and its mobo only accepts PCI x1 or something and most I see are x16. My Google-Fu hasn't been of much help finding answers specific to my model though, as I see dope questions where some chap needs to upgrade his kid owned HP s5620, 8000, etc. with dinosaur processors and Raedon 2000 shit because he dropped Hot Coca all ovr his $20,000 gaming rig or something like that LOL

Please note: IM NOT A HARDCORE GAMER! Mainly, I'm looking for something that can boost video conversion for Freemake video converter and my video editing software (Sony Vegas pro 11), as a friend of mine told me some cards can assist with video rendering but he wont tell me which ones because he doesn't want competition. Speaking of him hes loaded in cash and got this kray kray gaming rig with all sorts of things AMD 8 cores, 5gb video card and its 1s rendering for a 2 hr movie and Doom running 60fps at 1080p its phucking awesome bro.

EDIT: I was also told I have to upgrade my PSU on the HP if I put a card in its PCI slot or the cpu will choke or something. I don't know the wattage of my PSU and nothing on Google says anything about a power supply swap if I put any video card in so plz help me i'l give you a Scooby Snack LOLOLOL

Bump: one more question can my AMD Athlon II X2 processor be overclocked to something like 3.4 on stock fan and my mobo? Most videos I've seen are ether for my processor on some 100yr old gaming thing with a dif mobo and Windows XP, or every other AMD but the Athlon II on a Win 7.

If anyone has/d experience with all these things I would gladly take any help and advice thanks.

From what I can tell from the pictures and manuals on-line, you're not going to be able to get a larger card in the case, but they do show smaller cards inside, using the PCI slots, but I doubt you'll get much more than a 1GB GPU.

As to the PSU I don't think you'll have serious issues with running out of power, the PCI cards don't require much juice. But you can check your power supply, it should say its specifications on it.

I don't care about graphics and 4k, I just need a good card that's in my price range of $40-100, will fit without issue, and doesn't require me to put in a new PCU if I don't have to.

The Zotac one from new egg may work but my other question is do these have audio drivers that allow audio through HDMI or is that another thing I have to buy?

Also, the manual link u sent me doesn't show the wattage of my PSU. The main thing is I need to know if I have to buy another higher watt PSU if I get a PCI card in dat thing?

You wouldn't buy the drivers, you'd install them. Some older cards support HDMI audio some don't, but I'd imagine you shouldn't run into many issues. At worse you'd have to output your sound through the PC's audio outputs.

The manual is a guide for you to open the PC and check the power supply. You need about 300W to be on the safe side.

I believe the Pavilion is around 225w INS. If so then yeah I may have 'ta buy a PSU if I put in a PCI card.

Windows 7 support will end in *2 years*. If you are buying a PC now, you gotta start thinking about Windows 10. Early this year, ransomware struck many PCs that were behind on security updates by only a *few months*. Once Windows 7 updates are gone, you are immediately unprotected and risk being the next hacking victim. This is not the time to be paranoid. Either get Win10 now, or make sure you get it in 2 years.

Your Radeon 3000 is fairly old, so any card on this list should be a lot better. The benchmark numbers are indicators of their speed, and there are many sub-$100 cards with good speed. If you are not gaming, you can aim even lower. Get the card's full specs including length, width, no. of slots needed (some need more than one), power requirements, and, for you, Windows 7 support (which will be gone eventually just like XP support was gone). Just get Win 10 now so you have one less thing to worry about.

Win 10 is like a bomb with the spying telemetry shit they force on you. Main issue is it's forced updates and if its one that makes u get a blue screen like the Oct 11 update then ur ****ed until they get their asses out and fix it.

Wat i did was bought a referb Lenovo Thinkcentre M82 with 2TB drive 16gigs of ram and a I5 with 3.2ghz up to turbo 3.7, all for under $300 and its way way faster than the pavilion plus the I5 integrated gpu is btter than the dinosaur raedon. I wanna enjoy win 7 until its no longer supported then ill partition the 2tb drive for 10 so I can use 7 for things 10 wont run or allow to be installed, or install 10 on the pavilion for shits and giggles because by 2020 i'm sure they'll have a new Windows on the horizon since Win10 % is rather low bro.

Win 10 removed forced updates months ago.

There is no "new Windows on the horizon" as MS has said Win10 will be "the last Windows version." That means continuous, possibly subscription-based updates, like Office 360 right now. Or it could even be free updates like other operating systems such as iOS and Android, since Win10 was offered free once.

You can start using Win10 now and create another partition for Win7 dual boot, right now. Isn't that the same thing? Why must people wait until the very last moment to make the most important update of their computer, the OS update? You, like most people, already learned not to switch to a new OS too soon. Now you need to learn not to do it too late. Imagine someday you have a critical task to do but you can't do it because it requires Win10 which you don't yet have. If you have to scramble for a solution in the middle of the night to complete a critical task that has a deadline, maybe then you will experience true regret. Maybe then you wish you had installed Win10 earlier to have a bit of insurance for yourself. Time to learn a tech survival tip: better to quit on a technology at the right time than to have it quit on you at the most inopportune time.

While some of the tips do make sense, the rest of ur post sounds like Microsoft is paying u to spew out win 10 marketing positives. Everyone knows 10 is inferior and is technically still in beta since that October bug. many ppl are staying away from it until 7 truly ends in '19 or until Microsoft gets the point regarding updates and privacy snooping then will a high adaption percentage will be achieved.

Also, only 10 pro users can choose updates instead of getting them forced so you saying MS removed forced updates all over is PURE BS so MS can pay u to spew out lies and to get more 10 users and collect "statistics". I, like many other people, prefer to do as we want than get it forced by cooperates against our own will.

I know 7 is going to end soon, but with me buying a referb PC with good specs for under $300, I could upgrade it to 10 anytime which is roughly 150 or less, dual boot between 7 being the Lenovo has a 2TB drive, and still save money since new PCs with 10 and specs equal to the referb Lenovo I got are in the $600+ price range which is way to much given my low income.

End of conversation.

Microsoft removed forced updates THIS APRIL
with the "version 1703" update that lets you "snooze" an update or "pick a time" to install it. The feature for Win 10 Pro is called "defer updates," which is a totally different feature that existed 2 years ago when Win10 first came out.

How many times do I have to CORRECT your fake info and ADJUST your attitude to something more conducive to you actually learning something here? YOU came here to ask for help, remember? From the way you sound you would think it is the other way around, LOL. Do you always listen only when it is info you like to hear?? No surprise you are this clueless about the most basic info about Win 10.
