Default Kill Me Again (1989) - 3/22 (Olive Films)

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Kill-...lu-ray/147398/

Quote:
Kill Me Again would be one of three on-screen appearances by Val Kilmer and Joanne Whalley (then Mrs. Val Kilmer) which includes the Ron Howard directed and George Lucas produced fantasy film Willowand Francis Ford Coppola's horror film Twixt.

Jack Andrews (Val Kilmer, Heat), a down on his luck private investigator is looking to score some cash in order to pay off his debt to a local loan shark. Fay Forrester (Joanne Whalley-Kilmer, Willow) –in femme fatale mode – is looking to disappear, having just made off with a suitcase full of money stolen from her psychotic boyfriend Vince (Michael Madsen, Kill Bill) following a robbery gone wrong. Fate will bring Jack and Fay together. And fate may tear them apart in the modern day noir Kill Me Again, directed by John Dahl (The Last Seduction, Red Rock West) from a screenplay by Dahl and David W.Warfield. Kill Me Again features supporting performances by Jon Gries (Taken), Bibi Besch (StarTrek II: The Wrath of Khan) and Nick Dimitri (The Fugitive).

Not familiar with this one but late 80's thrillers are right in my wheelhouse. Will have to read up on it. I'm assuming it's not that good since I never heard of it.

It's a good, solid neo-noir. It's a pity John Dahl never lived up to the promise of his early films and has only done TV work since the disappointing You Kill Me in 2007

This was one of my favorites back in the day. Remember discovering it on light night tv in college.

Glad to see it getting a blu release.

You assume wrong, my friend.

I've only ever seen this 4:3, so the BD should be an automatic upgrade.

I never heard of it either, but the cast & plot make it a worthy blind buy.

It's a great little neo-noir thriller. John Dahl put together an impressive body of work in the late 80s, early 90s. If you like titles such as The Last Seduction or Red Rock West, you'll like this.

I'd reckon there's a pretty astounding number of good/great films you've never heard of -- and that goes for all of us.

I haven't seen this Kill Me Again in ages, but I remember it being a really solid neo-noir thriller. Looking forward to revisiting it on Blu-ray, especially since I've become a fan of Dahl's follow-up neo-noirs, Red Rock West and The Last Seduction (which both need to be released on Blu!).

It's been a long time since I've watched it, but I recall it being a good neo-noir. Here's hoping for a decent transfer. Speaking of Dahl, I wasn't too impresed with Last Seduction, but RRW is a great flick. It's coming to Blu in Germany.

I wish Kino (or even Twilight Time) got this instead of Olive.

Red Rock is way overdue for a US release! My favorite cage flick!
Awesome news on Kill Me Again, I've only ever seen this on full screen DVD so this should be nice.

KILL ME AGAIN's worth a look. I watched it recently for the first time since the theater probably. A legit widescreen DVD/BD will do this film good, but it's a mid or lesser 90's noir no matter how you shake it, IMO. Worth at least one watch though.

Olive offer up the same catalog masters as Kino and Twilight Time. They take what the studio gives them and slap it on a BD. The results depend on what they studio has, and I have Olive discs that look lovely.

Yeah, but at least Kino (sometimes) and Twilight Time (almost always) add ENG subtitles. Olive is too cheap and never add 'em.

Don't know if you guys picked this up yet, but I have it and I'm happy with the release. I posted a small review for it. Would I have liked more detail? For sure, but's it's not bad at all. Now PLEASE bring on Red Rock West

Not sure if you are region free, but there is a decent German release of Red Rock West, although I think it is region b locked.

Thanks, I never felt like modding my OPPO 103 for region free. I'm getting lazy in my old age
