I like combo packs too.
Finally saw this yesterday in Madison, WI and we really(!) liked it. It's too bad this didn't go wider. When it was "near" us (first in Davenport, IA...then Dubuque, IA) we missed it both times. Finally saw it, and am glad we caught it 6 weeks before video release. What a cast! Excellent flick. |

Just got done watching this a little while ago. I'm glad I blind bought it because I thought it was pretty good. It's runtime flew by for me as I was surprised when it was over. Naomi Watts and Sean Penn did really good in their roles, and it had a pretty solid supporting cast. It'll probably never find a large audience though, which is kind of a shame.
I agree with the review here on the PQ and AQ. It looked and sounded pretty good (except for a couple of hard to hear lines). |

did you have trouble reading the subtitles like me? I saw this 4 months ago and thought it was ok. Hated the quick edits and the way the story was cut near the first half but the subtitles were hard to read to me. They were small and had bright and white backgrounds were it was really hard to read.

If you want a movie with tons of action, guns, violence, CGI, unrealistic stunts or stunning cinematography, this isn't for you. But if want a great political thriller that's pretty close to the actual events, it's a fine film, although I don't know that this is one that you need to own - seeing it once is probably enough. IMO, this was actually a far more exciting film than "All The President's Men", as good as that was. The only failing in the film from my perspective is that it didn't place enough blame at the door of columnist Robert Novak, who should have known better than to out a CIA agent. If he had been a liberal columnist, Fox would have cried 'treason'. |

Getting jazzed about this review and watching Penn's movie within a movie role in "What Just Happened?"...I decided to look him up on IMDB. He really hasn't done that many movies. That surprised me. He's such a talented guy, it'd be nice to see more of him. That's the way I feel about all those older actors who've basically stopped acting too (Nicholson doesn't do much, Hackman's done completely, etc...).
