Universal is releasing Walter Hill's Brewster's Millions before his Streets of Fire? Who'd a thunk it? Please tell me this delay is because Shout Factory is licensing it and has a sweet special edition in the works.

Brewster's Millions is one of those 1980s comedies that I haven't thought about in ages, but would like to see again.

I just pre-ordered. $7.95 with free shipping is pretty awesome.

The UK release (licensed from Universal) has a very tired, dirty old transfer so people shouldn't expect miracles from this. That said, I guess folks aren't gonna be expecting some amazing new remaster for $8. And as grotty as it is, it's still vaguely pleasing just for the lack of processing and would be a whole lot worse if Universal have got some DNR'ed version sitting in their vaults, just waiting to be unleashed. *shudders*

No doubt it will probably be a ten or twelve year old master. At least it isn't be relegated to BD-R.

Watched this many many times as a kid on an edited, recorded from TV, VHS. Had the DVD at one point too, but got rid of it due to pretty terrible picture quality. Considered the UK Blu-ray a few times, but am glad that I waited. Will definitely buy this. Thanks OP!

Very fun movie. A shame it will probably be lousy PQ, though I don't own it on dvd and so I'll get it regardless.

Always loved John Candy and hope more of his starring or supporting role flicks come to blu (Speed Zone, Nothing But Trouble, Going Berserk, Who's Harry Crumb, etc). Not much I really want from Pryor that hasn't been released other than Moving.

Finally. Always weird how extremely popular movies like this get passed over for Blu-ray. Hopefully we'll get the rest of Pryor's work as well. Moving, Greased Lightning, Bustin' Loose, etc... he's been in a lot of great films.
