Warner Bros Magic Mike’s Last Dance

Looks like a third film to close out the trilogy is coming to HBOMAX! Channing Tatum just tweeted out the script with Steven Soderbergh returning as director!

Oh wow!

I liked the first film. Didn't see the second one.

But this is a strangely critically acclaimed and successful franchise.

So I can see why they would want to close out the trilogy.

The first two were really good. I'm glad we're getting another but disappointed it's not a theatrical release. After all of this time though a third probably wouldn't do that great in the theater.

These movies are realllllly cheap. They are indies basically. 15 mil is what they cost.

They could easily easily easily recover that back in theaters and make some money too.

So I don't see why this couldn't be theatrical. But maybe the cast and Soderberg got a good deal regardless.

The most surprising news is that Soderbergh is returning to direct. He didn’t direct the sequel, which is really fun and a nice complement to the first movie.

Damn - HBO MAX most likely means no physical release to round out the trilogy. So damn disappointing. Streaming services are basically the worst nightmare for any physical media collector.

He was technically retired during production of the sequel. But was cinematographer, Editor, and worked closely with Gregory Jacobs.

That's true. The first only cost 7 Million. But the sequel shot up to 15 Million. They should be able to make it on the cheap.

Well he kinda-sorta did direct it.

He was "retired" but its his film as much as it is Jacobs. So there's that.

It was only a matter of time before we got this announcement and yes I agree this is actually one of the SMART moves made by Zaslav. This WILL make money guaranteed and by releasing it directly to their own streaming service they were literally tossing money in the garbage. Plus now this is guaranteed to get a physical release (hopefully a UHD!) and my Magic Mike trilogy will be complete at home.
