Ever since I first read about Impulse getting a Blu-ray release by Grindhouse (on here), it's been one of the 'in the works' titles I've been most looking forward to.

The alternate title I've heard is "Want a Ride, Little Girl?" However, I've never seen a print bearing that title.

I read years ago that Want a Ride, Little Girl? was a working title, but that the film was never released under that name. I've never seen a poster or press book/kit listed under the WaRLG? name. Doesn't mean it didn't happen, but I think it's unlikely.

This movie is entertaining all the way through, due almost exclusively to Shatner's over-over-the-top performance. Although I have to say that the car wash scene with Harold Sakata is incredible. And by incredible I mean incredibly ridiculous. Both Sakata and Shatner were injured during the filming of the scene, but my wholehearted opinion is, it was WELL WORTH IT.

Since the trailer is 1.85:1, I presume that the film will be presented that way, as is correct (I think all the DVDs are 1.33:1). Despite being a camp-fest, I remember this film being competently shot and edited, so there aren't any serious distractions to draw one's attention away from all the Shatner awesomeness.

My favorite bit is the first murder in the VW bug. Shatner does a triple freak out. Whoever thought of asking him to do that is a genius. His outfit at the zoo is a real eye popper too. And the SHATNER NUDE SCENE!

I heard that Get In The Car was a retitle for TV distribution to make it seem like a TV movie and put the theatrical reputation behind them. That is hard to believe, but maybe it's true.

There are only two things I remember about this movie: the ending (which I remember vaguely), and Shatner's light blue (thin denim??) leisure suit, which I COVETED BADLY! ��

Grefe definitely has a handful of hard if not impossible to see movies. I'm guessing it could be racing fever, the checkered flag, The godmothers, or the devils sisters.

I would guess THE DEVIL'S SISTERS, although it really isn't very good IMO.

Any chance one of the bonus films would be a restored version of Incubus (1966)?
I read on Cinesavant that in Feb of this year a pristine print was located.
It would be cool if it was transferred as one of the bonus titles.
If not, I hope in some way shape or form it comes out.

Otherwise some Grefe rarities would be cool too.
I'm excited for this one to finally come out.

I'd be surprised if Grindhouse could access INCUBUS, because the French label Le Chat Qui Fume is working on the restoration. I expect that Le Chat will release it themselves.

This film is hilarious. Shatner chews up the scenery and every tacky mid 70s trend in clothes and decorating is on display. The same movie could be made today as a parody of itself without having to change a thing. If that sounds appealing, you'll like it.
