Default My 805 Onkyo won't recognize my 360 -_-V

360 is connected via hdmi for picture, optical for audio.

I have it set to dolby digital 5.1 in the menus on the 360.

But for some reason the sub wont turn on .. i have a 7.1 setup.

My ps3 (yeah i know) works wonders, all speakers show up on the display for the onkyo.

But for the 360, only the left and right front speakers show up.

Anybody?

RRoD did it. Just kidding.

If your 360 is hooked up to another HDMI input make sure you assign that input like you did for the PS3. You have to do that for every input.

The Onkyo has adaptive intelligence and is rejecting it.

The hdmi is set to input as video, Im pretty sure the digital input is set for the same as well, or else I couldnt hear anything.

My ps3, and my hd-a35 ( i know.. its a dead thing) all pop up but i still cant figure out why the 360 wont -_-V

What exactly do you mean when you say "the sub won't turn on"?

Is it that you are not hearing anything or is it something else?

And what content are you playing on the 360?

Could be the game. My sub will not turn on when I play Oblivion, but when I play warhawk, the thing rumbles quite a bit. Maybe these games just have different soundtracks. I also have the 805 BTW.

Fixed it.

What listening sound should it be on?

The rep for onkyo for some reason couldnt tell me.

I just leave it on all channel stereo.. does it matter really?

Like my WII, 360, PS3 all have all channel stereo, unless i can pick the audio option in the game, like uncharted i can pick 7.1 pcm and the receiver does it.

you should keep it on "Direct" or "PrologicIIx" (for 7.1 setup prologicIIx will expand 5.1 into 7.1)

yes. The player will send out what it can...the Onkyo will do what it will with any input signal.

I have PrologicIIX Movie and music -_-V

BUt its weird now..

On the ps3 when i manually select the audio settings within a blu ray, it doesnt change on the receiver anymore, im soo freaking lost. The 360 works fine now, but the PS3 settings should be correct.

So even though it says PrologicIIX movie, and I put in saw 4, which has 7.1 dts master audio, and I pick that option, but prologic still appears.. ? Im so lost on this crap -_-V And onkyo is close

All Channel will convert a 2 channel signal to 5.1

Direct does nothing but amplify

Onkyo has a menu setting for In / Out Defaults

IE: DTS in = DTS mode

This is what im confused on! I leave it on PLIIX or whatever it is movie or game depending on what Im doing

But the problem now is, even when I go to switch it in the main menu of the movie to whatever the movie is, the receiver shuts off for a second, then reappears with PLIIX again.

Like for example, I put in clerks 2 in my hd dvd A-35 player. It first showed up as PLIIX, then i went to the menu and picked Dolby Tru HD 5.1. Played the movie, the receiver switched over to dolby tru hd 5.1.

But for other movies its not doing that.. Anchorman, I even popped in We Own The Night on blu ray and switched it to whatever the audio was for that movie and the receiever still showed PLIIX movie, not what the movie actually selected in the menu
