Default Ultimate James Bond Collection

I sure hope it does not take 10 years from now for the entire James Bond collection to appear on Blu-Ray. The ultimate edition is so tempting on DVD. I have the 2 volumes of the 3 original DVD special box sets. However there really is no point in buying another DVD box set to complete my James Bond Library. I would be buying copies I already have but not getting a whole lot more for my money.

I can't wait for the 1080p edition to be released on Blu-Ray!!

Imagine the shock and awe if this saw a miracle 11th hour in time for Christmas announcement.

Yeah, I know...and then I woke up.

But I fully expect to see these in relatively short order. They may wait until Casino Royale is out of the theaters so they can include it.

I'm definitely looking forward to my loaded BD disc of that, right off the bat!

I'm sorry I don't have a link handy, but I read from someone at the top of the foodchain, that James Bond is considered a 'product for the masses' and will therefore NOT be released in a Hi-def format anytime soon (read: until Hi-Def is a mass market).

If BD has a good showing in the next four months, perhaps Casino Royale will be released. Hot new releases sell formats.

Who has the home video distribution rights for the older Bond films? CR is from UA/Columbia, so I presume Sony has CR.

Casino Royale has to be a definite release in the new year - I would think. It's too big a showcase for blu-ray not to be released day and date with the DVD.

You can imagine the marketing now! Exclusive to blu-ray and compatible with PlayStation3...

They already used the Sony BDP-S1 in the movie itself, so I'm pretty sure Casino Royale will be a day and date release.

Just a note for the movie Casino Royale. I saw it in the DLP theather, and yes I could spot some film grain here and there throughout the movie, especially the opening part where they use it as a special effect. Not bad grain, but just mentioning it so when the yahoo's of hd-dvd point it out. Tell them it's part of the master, stupid.

I'll be purchasing the Bond movies on BD when they come. Casino Royale will most likely be released on BD day and date with DVD. If I was a betting man, I would put money on it.

I wouldn't hold your breath for this to happen anytime soon. You could settle for "License to Wed" starring the wonderful Robin Williams.

Default James Bond Ultimate Collector's Set on Blu-Ray?

Don't know if anyone is interested or not, but a new James Bond Ultimate Collector's Set is set to release November 6 in DVD with all 21 movies included each with a bonus disc, adding up to 42 discs in total.

Does anyone know if it would ever be planned to release the James Bond movies on Blu-Ray?

Well, it's MGM so I would think at some point they will all come out for us. But you have to think that the re-work that needs to take place on these titles would be quite the task.

Yeah, and I don't know if they would see the financial success they would want to see out of it enough to do it just yet, or at all. I would at least like to see Goldeneye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day. Those are the only ones I've seen, but I wouldn't mind checking out the whole series as well. Sure would be an expensive set. The DVD 21-movie set is $199. Probably be around $300 for the Blu-Ray version.

the ultimate edition is already cleaned up really really nicely they shouldn't have much more to do to bring it to Blu would they?

anyway id love it

I've been holding off buying the Ultimate Collectors set (1 cuz its bloody expensive, 2 im expecting a HD release)

It's just my hope that they use the original movie poster art when introduced to Blu-ray!:

After watching the HD versions of 'From Russian With Love' and 'Goldfinger' on MGMHD on Directv I'll never watch my DVD Bond discs again. They look like they were filmed yesterday. MGM has digitally remastered all the Bond films in HD so its just a matter of time till we see them released in HD. We need the blu-ray versions now!!!!
