The important thing with this film is that there’s an Unrated cut and a DIFFERENT director’s cut. Director’s cut is the best.

Looking at the back cover of Saw IV, I think we’ll be getting the theatrical cuts with these editions. They may not have been able to find the materials for the uncut portions.

I would’ve ordered these except for the missing unrated cuts. That’s a shame

What is with Lionsgate just doing the R-rated cuts with these limited steelbooks? Last week it was The Devil's Rejects and now Saw II through IV. There's 1080p versions of every single film available everywhere? Is it really hard to just splice in some of the unrated footage? Not even including them on the blu-ray at the bare minimum is just ridiculous.

we dont need the unrated footage to be from the negative! Just upscale the existing DI! **** sake. OR just give the option on the disk to watch theatrical or unrated with lower resolution inserts.

Exactly. They can literally just upscale it from the previous blu-ray? This isn’t a silent night deadly night situation where the unrated footage is from a vhs source. So lazy.

It doesn't say unrated on the front of the slip, but the Amazon product details indicate it's unrated.

I just posted in the Saw II thread, but I'll say here as well (maybe the more Lionsgate sees this, they may actually change it up) but without the unrated cuts, these are not worth it.

The first one has the unrated cut, why wouldn't they continue with the rest of the series? makes no sense

The thread for Saw IV steelbook says it's not live yet, so I suspect the same is true here for III. The link for II is live, though.

For whatever reason, II is the only listing that has gone live. Maybe later today the other two films will be active listings.

Because the first one is the only entry to have a 100% photochemical finish and I believe the movie was already remastered in 4K back in 2014 for the 10th anniversary theatrical re-release which happened to be the unrated cut. Since the 4K of the first used what was clearly an interpositive, it's possible that the OCN would be conformed to the theatrical cut and the interpositive they used was conformed to the unrated cut.

The unrated cuts for the sequels were 100% finished for home video and would have to be rebuilt from scratch if Lionsgate wanted to include them, unlike the theatrical cuts which would have conformed film elements.

Yeah this is extremely disappointing considering the old Blurays are terrible. ESP terrible in Saw III’s case since it has 3 different cuts that I’m aware of
