Sharp BD-HP20A - DVD Region free - Blu-ray Forum

Is there any firmware or hacks or upgrade to change my DVD region 3 / All setting to region free??

My transformer I bought from the state (Region 1) is written uncompatible disc inserted................

Anyway to solve this problem??

Unlikely. I know of no BD players that have region free playback for dvd yet unless you physically mod the player and that is only certain models. I think you would get more help going to a European centric BD site where region free playback would be a bigger concern.

Haiz... then I have no choice but to get a high def dvd player for my region 1 DVDs.

HU8022000 firmware applicable to Sharp BD-HP20A??

This is the only site that might help you that I know of:

They sell modded Blu-ray players among other things. And I did a little checking and apparently the older Panasonic BD player can be made region free if you have a programmable remote.
