Good idea or no?

Im a student and im considering taking out a $40,000 line of credit with a student-loan interest rate. My plan is to use it like I use my credit card and continuously pay it off right after I take money from it so I can build good credit. My question is, do you have to pay interest on all money taken with a line of credit or is it like a credit card where it's just at the end of the month? Is it a decent way to build up your credit?
