I have never tried the PS3 version of the game, but the PC version is one of the better games I've ever played, imho.
The PS3 version should be exactly the same, so I recon you'll get a considerable amount of gaming hours there. My current savegame is now on 73 hours or so, and there's still alot of unfinished quests. Some more interesting than others, ofcourse. All I can say is; go for it! ![]() |

I have the game and it is excellent all around. It is a really an in-depth and mature RPG, since it was originally created on the PC. You can easily spend a good 100+ hours if you explore everywhere and do all the sidequests. The graphics and motion are outstanding. Highly recommended.

It's lots of fun. I prefer the PC version b/c I like to make mods, but from what my friends say it's just as good on the PS3 and runs quite smoothly.
I don't know about load times though. Anyone? |

The main main main story revolves around gates to oblivion opening *oblivion looks alot like what you might have pictured hell to look like*, and daedra entering the world thorough these gateways, causing all kinds of trouble. The subquests are broken down in a few catergories some require membership to a guild to obtain. Fighter Guild Quests Mage Guild Quests Thiefs Guild Quests Blackhand Guild Quests *assassin* Knights of the Nine *Crusader Quests* Random People quests (people walk up to you and give these) Conversation Quests (launched by having conversations with characters) Event Quests (These quests are started by you either seeing something, like a unread spirit wondering around or by another action of the player like finding a very special root) You can also explore the country side raiding caves and ruins, you can purchase house, horses and if you perform the knights of the nine get your own set of crusaders... Fun game fun game... |

its my favorite game on PS3, period.
i've put in well over 150 hours, not even 10% finished the main quests, and i still can't put the controller down. this game actually scares me at times when i think of where video games are going. |

I got this game when it first came out on the PC and had to upgrade my processor and graphics card. Well, I didn't technically "have" to upgrade but it's really nice being able to play the game at full capasity. All textures/shadows/reflections on high looks beautiful.
As for the length of the game, I'd probably be able to run thru and beat the "main" quest in about 10 hours using fast travel... but doing the main quest first makes it too easy since the monsters/bad guys seem to level up with you. So you may not even get to see some of the biggest baddies in Oblivion until your level 20+. Only gripe I have with Oblivion is their level-up scheme. You don't collect XP points by killing things or doing quests. You gain levels by using your abilities. Like if you're at skill level 5 with the blade and use your blade a lot you will increase to skill level 6. Once you've increased 10 skill levels of your major skills (You get to pick these at least) then you gain a level. I prefer the old XP point system but maybe I'm just a bit of an old school gamer... |

But they also have the Stilstrider... Stilrider... whatever those weird insect looking things were that would take you to the major cities. You just had to pay to travel. And if you talked to certain people or read certain books then the cities would appear on your map. You have to be careful when looking at that Morrowind map as well because there are two views. A close up view and a world map view.

to go. Also there were quests in Morrowind that did not give you a map or any form of general idea where the ruins was.. which had me doing a square by square exploration seeking a ruins that I thought was a city, the ruins was very far away from the quest giver.. almost wanted to kill quest giver took me months until I found a forum post where someone like me could not find the ruins and there step by step instructions on how to teleport there, it was near the taking mudcrab ![]() You have to admit Morrowind was not as mainstreamed as Oblivion. |
