Default So annoyed with lack of AU releases

Is anyone else from Australia find it frustrating with the complete lack of BD movies avalible. I look at american websites like Amazon and what not and see all these fantastic movies

I actually bought my PS3 as a games machine and a BD player second but over the past few weeks I have kinda swung as It still has nothing compared to the 360 which I love. So I have bought 11 BD movies which is like 3/4 of whats avalible in Australia.

The good news is that it's even worse for HD DVD here, it's literally impossible to walk into a store and buy a HD DVD movie....love it

Any Aussies where are you buying your BD from?

Just a rant, new here *waves*

Hi Shawn,

I've bought a few titles from Amazon, you just need to ensure that they are region free. eg all Warner & Paramount titles are region free. Check out this site before you order...

Cheers,

Wayne.

I'd like to get a few Aussie movies, some of which are not even released on DVD. Oh well.

I guess you have to order from Amazon.UK, Shawn.

hey Shawn,

Welcome to the Forum. Blue (Moderator) is also from Aus and was kind enough to share where to purchase Blu-Ray movies......(drum-roll).....

"David Jones"

I guess give that a shot if you happen to be near one of those shops. I haven't been there lately but will definately go have a browse at their DVD section.

There are other threads here pointing to different articles that stated Myer were also only selling Blu-ray. Although I have been actively looking, I have not yet seen the oposition to Blu-ray. I was actually passing through David Jones so went up to their AV section expecting to see that "other format" only to see that they had about 10 titles JB didn't have with a 15% discount! It will be interesting to see where Casino Royale pops up.

I agree it's annoying. With DVD it wasn't so bad as at least PAL was a higher quality (many DVD's they cheated and just did an up conversion from NTSC) but now with same quality... Just look out for the Amazon sales. With any luck Blu-ray will move from the cardboard display to the shelves and start making inroads on DVD.
