Default How is HD-DVD going to Survive if this keeps up?

Saw this posted over at highdefdigest

"With release dates there are:

72 Blu-ray movies announced. 56 of those are exclusive.
17 HD DVD movies announced. Only 3 of those are exclusive."

LOL... I love when the truth can be stated in such few words. I can't wait to watch the BD sections at B&M retailers start to severely overpower the HD-DVD sections in terms of title counts. Soon the BD movies will probably be taking away shelf space from HD-DVD.

Sony is intending to release 100 titles this year on its own in North America (and as appropriate to rights elsewhere). Compare that to the CES announcement of 300 titles worldwide for HD DVD (2-3x duplication, so 100-125 different for NA).

Now, add Fox, Disney, Lionsgate.

Now add most of the Warner and Paramount titles from HD DVD's list.

By the fall of 2007, BD could easily have 2x the number of titles released as HD DVD. (Insert thread title here).

They'll have all the porno, and as we know that is what is going to push all the HD movie players.

Too bad most of that is recorded 720p or 1080i with real-time compression.

Sorry Junior, no Disney for you. Mommy and Daddy need LOTS of alone time.

the porn thing has been debunked anyway. I considered it a non issue from the beginning, due to internet porn.

That was sarcasm on my part. Porn is profitable because it is low cost to produce, and those small time producers aren't going to shell out the bucks for the good HD cameras. That means HD porn is going to look crappy, with low PQ.

I have seen it already at my local Wal-Mart. Blu-Ray was always in the bottom as HD-DVD on top now they are putting Blu-Ray on top a little at a time.

But the HD DVD group announced there would be 600+ titles available at the end of this year. I wonder if they were able to keep a straight face during this.

Yeah, even the porn thing is BS anyway, as Vivid has already stated that they still intend to release on Blu-ray, and there is already Japanese porn available on Blu-ray, so HD DVD can't even claim porn as a victory, really.

Pure and natural Clan reasoning.

I'm not sure people on the Hindenberg should be making Titanic references by the way.
That cracked me the f up.

Good one

P.S. HD DVD will survive on sheer faith apparently. At least for now.

Thanks guys for the compliment, I posted the figures on highdefdigest (Actually I got the figures from the highdefdigest release schedule). I got my head bitten off over there. I think highdefdigest has the biggest collection of HD DVD fanboys outside of avsforum.
