Snuff indicates that HD-DVD won. - Blu-ray Forum

Chuck Palahniuk (Fight Club) has a new book out called Snuff. In the book, a character talks about porn enthusiasts as the kind of people with disposable incomes that also tend to be the early adopters that determine the success of new technology. After mentioning several examples, the book indicates that these early adopter porn fans were the people who also determined the victor in the Hi-Def war by choosing HD-DVD over Blu-ray.

I had to laugh.

Anybody else read it?

Must have been written before the Warner announcement (tee-hee).

"Snuff" is a novel.

And while I haven't read it, perhaps the text in question is meant to put the character in question in a certain light?

Since the book is about the filming of a porn movie, one would think that when the author was doing "research" he had read that porn would be available on HD DVD and not Blu-ray. Of course you had the HD DVD zealots claiming that porn won the VHS, Beta war, so HD DVD would win. It wouldn't be hard for him to just assume that HD DVD was going to win.

No, I haven't read the novel. I did read a review on Ain't it Cool News and on Amazon, so I cannot comment on if the book is any good or not.
