Default Best Monitor Upgrade?

Hi all, I just bought a BD-Rom drive from Sony, and need your opinions. My computer runs everything fine, the picture looks pretty good. I am running on a 19" HD LCD Monitor in 1440x900 resolution.

I played The Punisher on regular DVD and Blu-Ray, and I can notice a difference... but nothing major. Now I know that I need 1920x1200 for "true" resolution. But here is my question.

Would it be worth paying the $400 now to buy a 22" with the 1920x1200 resolution, or would the improvement not be THAT much better, and I should just wait until I am ready to go all out with a 37"er or the like?

I plan to get a big screen and mount it on my wall, and use it as my monitor/blu-ray all-in-one deal. But of course, I need to wait a bit for the money. But if the upgrade from 19" to 22" would be a huge improvement, I'll get it now and enjoy myself until I get that big screen upgrade.

Thanks everyone, look forward to joining in your community

And on a similiar, but different note... is it worth upgrading to PowerDVD 8 Ultra or WinDVD 9 from my PowerDVD 7.3 OEM? Just curious....

wait and buy a larger HDTV.

$400 for 22" or 24" is a waste of money.

If you're on a tight budget, I'd get a 22'' (you can get those for under $300)

Spending over $300, get a 24" (a significant improvement over the 19")

But if you have plenty saved up in the $500 range, I would definately go for the 25.5"/26". I'm watching blu-rays on my 25.5" samsung monitor...it's huge!!! I upgraded from a 22"

I would check out http://www.newegg.com for some good deals

I may be wrong but arent most if not all 22in monitors just 1680x1050 res ? I went from a Dell 22in to a VX2835wm 28in Viewsonic @1920x1200 resolution and from ZipZoomFly it was barely $500 after the $50 mail in rebate ! This is one nice monitor and at 27.5in viewable its VERY large compared to the 22in I was using. Just shop around and read the reviews....the more the better. GOOD LUCK
About the software...Im using WinDVD 8 now but Im changing to PowerDVD Ultra in a few days. Rely on your own research instead of other peoples opinions, you'll be more satisfied in the end.

Yeah, the only 1920x1200 22" monitor I know of is the Lenovo... and the reviews on that are less than spectacular. My advice...

Wait and get either a nice large LCD HDTV or a good MVA/PVA panel based 24" PC monitor. I really dislike TN+Film screens, especially for movie viewing. It's somewhat a personal preference, and the better screens definitely cost significantly more... but its worth it in the long run.
