Default Netflix Blu-ray wait times...

I change my Netflix and added blu ray.

most of the movies that I added are either long wait or short wait.

is this normal? or just this week.

thanks.

this is my 2nd month that I have netflix AND Blu-ray and the movies have been on long and short wait for a while. So I am giving them this month and if it stays the same I might cancel them.

I decided to reside with Blockbuster because I usually get the movies I want on time and plus I live in a big city so Blockbuster is everywhere for my benefit

It depends on the movies. If they are new releases then it will take a while but I have older movies in my list that are available now. Here in the Boston area if I return a movie on Monday morning to a mailbox Netflix usually gets it the next dayand I can usually get the new BD movies that come out on Tuesday. It is a timing thing for new releases.

Default Very Long Wait

I never get new blu titles from Netflix. As soon as their is a better option I will be dropping them. I dont live close to a blockbuster and don't like going into the stores. But Netflix has not kept up with the demand of blu and I don't recommend anyone trying to use them for newer blu disc's.

The same can be said for Blockbuster. Until HD becomes a little more widespread their stock on these titles will remain low. Just keep complaining to them and maybe it will speed things up.

I have a Hollywood video near my house which has both blu and HD.

I might cancel my netfilx soon if this continues.

Sometimes i get them fast, sometimes slow. It is pretty important to add them to your queue before they are released, it definately helps quite a bit. Blu can be slow, infact I had We are Marshall on the my list for over 2 months. I finally just gave up and went to Blockbuster to rent it that day.

If Netflix doesnt improve their Blu Ray scales, I will most definately be cancelling my membership. FYI, HD-DVD is a bit faster but also pretty slow if you dont reserve those movies well ahead of release {called save on Netflix}. I bought one of those $98 A2 players so that I can rent HD-DVD movies instead of buy (attach rate that Toshiba )

I usually always got a DVD the day or at least the same week it came out. But with Blu-rays it is totally different. The shortest wait I have for any of them is an older Blu title and that is not even "short wait".

Maybe it's regional because I haven't had much of an issue. I've been using them for Blu-Ray since last summer and only one or two were wait-listed and they were new releases. In fact one of them was just last week and after a few days of "Very Long Wait" status I got it in the mail.

I've been using Netflix for almost a year to get blu ray movies. The wait is typically long, but hasn't been too big a problem because if i really want to see the movie i'll just buy it. More of an annoyance than anything and not as bad as having to drive 10miles to the closest Block Buster which carries Blu Rays. (Only 1 of the 5 in my Area carry Blu Rays. )

If anybody thinking of switching from Netflix to Blockbuster. Let me tell you, it's no better.
I have long wait on my BD also and I decided to sign up with Blockbuster two weeks free trial. BB has less BD on their sites.
Netflix has more.
All my BD have long wait also. The only nice thing about BB is that you can get some of them from the store. I just went to my BB near my house and they must quite a bit of selection of BB on display.
Like Ocean's 13 which listed as long wait on both Netflix and Blockbuster and they have three copies sitting on the shelf at Blockbuster.
But you can only allow to exchange five movies at the store per month though.

I have been getting Netflix blu since August and never waited more than two days except with "Day after tomorrow" which took a week. I put 3:10 to Yuma in my queue early yesterday morning and it shipped yesterday. I live in the Chicago area which has several distribution points.

Here, upstate NY, I typically only have long waits for brand new releases. I can sometimes get them on release day if I time a return to arrive on Monday.

Perhaps we don't have as many customers around here. Movies typically come to me from several distribution centers in NY, MA and VT.
