Default PS3 Or Samsung BD-P1400

So, I'm considering selling my current PS3 and buying a stand alone Blu Ray player. I'd like to get information on whether the Samsung BD-P1400 is better as a blu ray player, or recommendations on a player that is.
I'd ideally like a Blu Ray player which is Region free, which I think the PS3 is anyway, so I'm unsure for several of these reasons.

I own both, and I would keep the ps3 over the bd-p1400. I wouldn't mind getting rid of the sammie and go with a cheap magnavox...

Keep the PS3. (no Blu-ray player is region free without being modified)
