Default "The Other Boleyn Girl" - Stunning PQ!!

Just got my copy from Deepdiscount, and the picture quality is just jaw dropping. It's the best picture I've seen to date on a Blu-ray disc. Even beating out "No Country For Old Men" and "There Will Be Blood". As far as the movie itself, I know the reviews were mixed. But if you liked either "Elizabeth" films with Cate Blanchett, you'll like this. And, it makes a great prequel to those (IMO). So overall, I'd give the movie itself an 8.5/10 and the picture quality 10/10.

I love the Tudor time period as a fan of history. But the inaccuracies in this movie were quite severe.

I went and saw it at the theater and it just annoyed the crap out of me.

I haven't opened my copy of The Other Boleyn Girl yet, but it's great to hear something good about the Blu-ray!

I rented the movie first, not expecting much, but I totally agree that it was a fantastic movie. The picture and audio quality was great, and the movie itself was entertaining. It's a Hollywood movie and not a documentary, so I didn't expect it to be historically accurate. Overall, great movie and I'm definitely going to put it on my wishlist to buy later.

It was shot with the Genesis digital cinema camera so the HD better look superb as it's a clone of the master slightly degraded to 8 bit 4:2:0 format and HD color gamut and compressed to BD bit rates.

I picked this title up as rental, Enjoyable movie with a good cast. PQ/AQ was great, though not anything in the movie really requiring the AQ to be great.

I agree, this movie was surprisingly pretty good. From the review on this site I was expecting the PQ to be excellent, expecially the opening and closing scenes. It did not disappoint. As far the the historical inaccuracies, that is what we get when Hollywood tries to make a movie entertaining. Most "historical" movies are inaccurate (Gladiator, Braveheart, King Arthur, The Patriot, etc.) This definitely is worth seeing and I will pick it up when it is on sale for good price.

I thought that the PQ and SQ were outstanding. I enjoyed the movie enough to overlook the historical inaccuracies. It's the 1st BR my wife picked out that I actually enjoyed... we ended up buying it. Set design and costumes alone are worth watching again IMHO.

Great PQ on this movie, I agree. Eric Bana makes any movie, no matter how doomed it is, at least a little good (ie Hulk and Troy).

However, after being a fan of the Tudors on Showtime (also coming to Blu-Ray) I found Natalie Portman's portrayal of Ann Boleyn weaker than Natalie Dormer's. Maybe watching the Tudors has my expectations set to that standard....but I think Dormer is a better Ann Boleyn as a seductress, tease, thinker, and manipulator. Anyone else prefer Natalie number 2?

I have not yet seen "The Tudors", but after watching this BR, I am anxious to see it.
