I'm not sure, but it does seem to be harder to find in a lot of places. It does add a little more fuel to the fire to the idea that the 80GB is about to get phased out - and more adds more fuel to the idea that backward compatibility may be coming to the 40GB unit as well.

There are no 80 gigs in my area - all 40. I haven't seen one in a long time, actually.

No i dont think its that, this bundle should last the whole summer if not the whole year.

I don't go to B&M stores very often but I would guess that they underestimated the demand... or a lot of Ebay Sellers are buying them up because it really is a good deal to get a PS3, MGS4 and a DualShock 3 controller for the price of just the PS3. Try doing a search on Ebay and see how much they are getting marked up.

Most eBay sellers are getting $50-$100 over retail tops. And you factor in that the seller had to most likely pay tax when they bought the bundle, plus eBay/PayPal fees, it's not worth it.

Everywhere around here is sold out. It looks like many people were waiting for this bundle to be released. I got 2 - one from Amazon, and one from Gamestop yesterday morning.

Yup I saw a bunch on Ebay a couple days ago, people who pre-ordered them on amazon was seeing what they could get for them, foolish IMO cuz you can get them from CC for retail price.

But you forget that people in general are stupid. Have you not seen the crazy crap people actually pay for on Ebay? There was a single paperclip that a guy said was evil and kept attacking him and it sold for quite a bit of money. I even saw a "mystery" bid going at one time that said, "You get whatever is under this cup." and there was a picture of a small styrofoam cup there. People will bid on anything because they are stupid. All the Ebay sellers have to do is say this new 80 gig MGS4 bundle is a Limited Edition and they'll get twice what they paid.

Case in Point - Clicky

My friends store got 4 bundles and as of today still has 3 lol.

This is because his gamestop is in a neighborhood where the demographic only plays Madden, NBA2k, and Grand Theft Auto.....So my advice to anyone looking for one...go to a gamestop, walmart, target, or best buy in that demographic and you will probably find one....so yeah.

Remember that the boxes you're seeing here likely underwent final assembly in CA (putting the game in the box)

you'll see a lot more in a few weeks, when the mother load of 80s that are able to be packed in China comes off the boat

The same thing happened with Rock Band

I had mine set aside for me as I know the owner of EB Games in my area. When I went to pick it up he said they were completely sold out in about an hour. Needless to say, if I didn't know him I'd be up shit creek.

This is what I figured was happening. People are buying them up and resaling them. They don't want the PS3 they want the extra money they make off of them. The cheapest from Amazon's individual salers is $629.99. That's about a 60% markup from retail on the CHEAPEST one. Do yourself a favor and just wait till you can pick it up from a store for retail price.
