Ok, it was inevitable. There is so much talk in this thread about whether or not Tower ripped people off, whether people received or did not receive their Iron Man BD early, etc that I thought a poll would be interesting.
I'll say that I was one of the ones on the fence as to which vendor to pre-order Iron Man from, and when I saw that thread I jumped on the bandwagon and ordered on 9-17 from Tower. I received the "we're shipping it - yay!" email the next day, and accordingly, the "oops recall, here's your money back" email a few days later. The BD has still not graced my mailbox, and may have never shipped. Oh, I'll also say I have not received my refund either. Let it begin. Last edited by blu-bee; 09-26-2008 at 06:52 PM. |

First of all, I don't think anyone who got a refund should be complaining. You took a chance on getting early and didn't. Some people are unbelievable. You wanted to get the movie, get a refund and then (potentially) complain about the disc that Tower sent you doesn't work on your blu-ray player.

I got my partial refund. They kept my shipping, even though it obviously never shipped because I don't have the disk. But the CSR I spoke with said they can't refund my shipping because I received a shipment notice. THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL THEY EVER SHIPPED THAT DISC!!!
I believe I have every right to be angry....not that I have to wait until the 30th, but because they cancelled my order and didn't refund all of my money, and furthermore send false shipment notices. Sure, it's only $3, but its the principal of the thing...how outraged would we be if they stole $3 from every order? That would add up quick. |

I want to know if people are actually gonna own up on here, the way they are complaining, when they actually receive the disc Tower stated (via e-mail) that they shipped. I ordered Transformers, paid the expedited shipping fee of $5 (I think) and it took exactly a week and a day (for expedited). I placed an order and did the free shipping and guess how long it took to receive, a week and a day.

And here I thought the thread title clearly stated TOWER experiences.
That is some shady business with them not refunding shipping costs though. Is that isolated to the above poster, or if any of you received your refund, were shipping costs refunded as well? |

Got off the phone w/ a customer service rep who said the refund should appear within 4-7 days of receiving the e-mail. I got the "shipping" email on the 18th, and the "refund" email on the 23rd.
Anyone ever order multiple items from Tower? I ordered Iron Man & Forgetting Sarah Marshall in the same order, and got two "shipped" emails for each blu-ray on the 18th. I assumed the Sarah Marshall blu-ray was in the same shipment as Iron Man (which probably never got sent out) so I asked the customer service rep if I would get refunded for Sarah Marshall, but he claimed it would have gone out in a separate shipment. For some reason... I don't believe him. I ordered The Godfather set from Tower using standard shipping and got it delivered in 3 days. For Iron Man/Sarah Marshall I used the same standard shipping but so far have nothing to show for it. |

I am never going to buy from Tower. Ever again.
I didn't order Iron Man from them but it seems like the best thread to vent. I ordered "Persepolis" and it hasn't arrived under the cheapest shipping. It's been two months. I ordered "Persepolis" (again) under priority shipping and it hasn't arrived yet. It's been one month. I have sent about a dozen emails asking for my money back but it seem to just go to their junk mail or something. The only reply I get would be that they have sent it and it seems like my package didn't have some sort of insurance, or they simply don't care about customer satisfaction. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. ![]() |

Ordered in on the 17th. Never got a shipped e-mail, as a matter of fact, my order never got past the "Your order is currently being processed and will be shipping soon!". I STILL have not gotten my refund. Personally, I think it's a bunch of BS that when retailers want their money, they take it IMMEDIATELY from my account, but when a return; or cancellation in this instance, takes place, they say it takes 4-7 days for processing. They cancelled the order, give me my money back NOW!!
