anyone pick this up last week? impressions? I'm really enjoying it but NA has to wait for the latest update while EU has it already. no love for NA.

got mine afew weeks ago, not sure if your version is the same as ours but i prefer greatly to the fifa game. prefer a faster paced game and fifa last couple seasons has just been far too slow for my liking!

The demo is much slower than 2008's speed. That said, I'm curious to see if the demo is indicative of the final build, it wasn't completely on 2008.

A part of me really wants to just buy it now as I have 2008 and used to play it a lot. If it weren't for the mountain of games out now I'd be all over it.

Still Konami has turned into EA in regards to the series with little very improvement each year. Still the best but they can improve a lot, especially graphics and sound (horrible in the demo when you kick the ball).

All my buddies from Europe have told me that it's much better than 08 , all the lag issues are fixed in terms of gameplay. That's all I really wanted. Sure the graphics could be better but it's the gameplay that stands out here and it's amazing. Can't wait to pick this up .

JK, don't take my word for it, i haven't tried PES2009 yet. i definately liked FIFA series much better over PES so far... i might rent this after i'm almost done with FIFA, which will probably be in february or march.

Thanks for the feedback. Honestly I never bothered to try online with 08, good to hear it is better. I really enjoyed 08 as well so I'm sure I'll be happy.

I'm not much of Fifa fan as the gameplay just doesn't feel good to me.

Still wish they has the I.S.S. series as well, one of my favorite games on the N64

the online in PES2009 is pretty good so far. I've had 1 game where I was worthless because of lag out of 10 games. I have fifa09 on the xbox360 and their online is excellent as well. won't go over that too much since this is a ps3 forum. you really can't go wrong with either game but my style is more suited towards PES2009, even with less teams, worser graphics, etc. the gameplay just feels right. you can't hold down speedburst and run your way into the box and score, not on professional difficulty atleast. you need an actual passing game and through balls or precision crosses in the box. you actually need to play 'beautiful football' like Arsenal or "sexy football" like Chelsea in real life to be effective. Even though I despise both of those teams.

also this game is 39.99 shipped, no tax from amazon so it was a no brainer. wish more releases were 39.99 instead of 59.99.
