Default BD-P1400 issues after Update?

So my samsung bd-p1400 has been awesome for a year now since i bought it now i have a problem. I bought the new iron man on blu ray...threw it in the player and let her go...it tried to boot and kept freezing up...so tried old blu ray and it worked fine...so i got the network cable and said time to update i guess. So after the update i threw the iron man back in and bam it works...only glitched 2 small times for some reason throught the movie. So i shut it down for the night and went to bed...next night i threw in season 2 of house and booted it up and now i have no sound output. Its not the dvd it worked before..the cables are fine as well...so what do i do. One plus i guess now is the update seemed to have fixed the slow eject the p1400 has had since new now it opens almost soon as you press the button...use to take 3-5 mins.

Any ideas as to what to do would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Check you settings. Every time I updated my Samsung it would revert back to factory settings and I would always have to change them back to what I set them at. It messes with the audio output, video output and a few other things.

Are you using HDMI for audio and video? If so unplug it and plug it back in wherever you have it connected.

Unplug it while everything is off. From both receiver and player. Then restart everything.

After the firmware update, the system power off automatically.. When you turn on the power first time after firmware update, the first screen comes is language selection. You will have hit "1" to select English..If you miss then you will have to go to settings to set the language.

I updated my P1400 yesterday to firmware 1.9 and now Iron Man BD discs plays flawlessly...

i'm having issues too with the bdp1400 and iron man. this is the first time a blurray disc did not play for me. i tried the update last night with ethernet cable. didn't seem to fix the problem. figure i'll try it again and hopefully i can play the disc. not sure if the update actually worked. seemed like it did. can't think of what else i could do. when i check my firmware update it says that i have version:

S/W 080808.02_XAA
Region A/01 (DB/DVD)

the first time i did the update, the power turned off on the player but it never went to the screen what asked me to select the language. i checked it and it still said english. that's what made me think that the update never took.

can anyone think of anything else that might be the problem for me?

seems like the update worked. i also changed the language to english manually but like before the screen that was supposed to come up never did. i had to manually go to that menu and select the language. but, seems like all worked out. glad i read this thread
