I am trying to upgrade this unit with cd file from Sammy. When I load the CD in the player it turns itself off in about 5 minutes & does not complete the update.
What am I doing wrong? John |

Nothing that I can tell; I don't think it is possible for a user to mess-up the upgrade unless they pulled the AC plug, or ignored any on-screen messages. If you can, I would use the internet. Much easier; just plug & play, and wait for the player to do its thing!
I assume that your player is still working, just not taking the update? |

Do you put it in and walk away or do you watch while it's loading? After it checks the current firmware version and the integrity of the flash file, it will ask if you want to continue, then turn off if you don't give it an answer.

I followed all firmware update procedures, including clicking on "yes" to update. The player is working fine other than not being able to complete the update.

Do you think you might be losing the handshake from the player to the TV prematurely? You may want to check and see if you're connected properly and if there are any settings that may have changed. Every FW update I've done on mine has been flawless. I did have your exact issue with the 1200 when I had it. I would load the FW disk and it would prematurely eject before the update finished. That would be called "Premature Ejectulation."
Yes, I had to say it. Last edited by Edh63; 05-11-2008 at 03:38 PM. |

My fault. When the player completed the firmware update, it ejects the cd and turns off. Sorry.........

"When I load the CD in the player it turns itself off in about 5 minutes & does not complete the update."
According to this part of your post, you've eluded to the player was not completing the update. In fact, the update can take up to around 30 minutes to complete before shutting down the player. There is no way you're player could be completing the update in 5 minutes... no way. So, when you made this post, what exactly were you saying? Because your final post doesn't jive with your original post now. Last edited by Edh63; 05-11-2008 at 05:16 PM. |
