Amazon Prime - Blu-ray Forum

i signed up for prime about a month ago so i have been in my free trial. it is going to sign me up for the whole year in 2 days. i am going to purchase it as i am more than satisfied with it. ok... here is my question...

i have heard a couple guys saying they are offering Prime for $59 right now instead of $79. on my account page it still says activate for $79. am i getting screwed out of 20 bucks? should i cancel and then resign up? what do you guys think?

resign with a new email address. Might as well save the 20 now. I pay 79 for prime and it is well worth it. I am able to send gifts to my niece who lives in another state and it helps me with all my orders. Highly recommend prime for those who shop alot. UPS truck comes by my house every Tuesday it seems.

well i definitely know it is worth it. the UPS truck DOES come by my house every tuesday (sometimes wednesday). i just want to know if i upgrade will they give me the $20 discount. i think that would only be fair...

Just so I'm clear on this:

If I sign up for Amazon Prime, I get OVERNIGHT SHIPPING for 4 bucks?

So (because I'm slow) I buy a bluray for, say....19.99.

I pick overnight shipping, and that adds 3.99 on to it?

So my total is about 24 bucks?

Yea. I have Amazon prime, and I can get $4 overnight on just about anything. However, I tend to always get the free 2 day rush shipping, I don't know why.

I hear ya! Been trying to convince Amazon to give us at the very least free Priority mail shipping. Lately we just get this damned Parcel Pool (even if you pay for standard shipping) and it takes 8-10 days to get here!!!!
Feel quite ripped off...

Keep in mind the overnight is 3.99 per item... The two day is fast. The thing that tends to slow Amazon down is paypal. If you use a credit/debit card they are FAST.

well that link wont let me do it either. says im already a member. i feel like that is bull crap! i wonder if i select do not upgrade, wait for my trial to run out on thursday and then try to sign up again if it would work. what do you guys think?

open up a new account with a different email address. sign up for prime with the new account. you can then add up to 3 family members from your household to that Prime membership (3 different accounts). just add the current account.

Quite a few of my orders get to me in a day anyway. especially my music, movie and book orders. they must have a warehouse close to me or something.

It can't hurt to try that. Worse case you are not eligible for the discount and only you can decide if you want to sign up again. For me it is
worth it, especially at Holiday or birthday times.

Finally bit on this after wanting Prime for so long. The trial was awesome, everything came next day using the free 2-day shipping. So excited, time to order!! Good timing for Christmas as well so I don't have to go many places for gifts. Thanks for the tip.

If you are lucky enough to live near an Amazon distribution center (like me), 95% of the time, you will receive (in stock) items shipped with "2 Day Shipping" the next day. Well worth the $79/yr membership fee.
