Amazon Prime

Has anyone ordered through Amazon today that was offered Amazon Prime? They gave me it as an option at checkout,I clicked it and now I have Prime again for one month . I had Prime before from May-June '08. I'm thinking this is a promotion for the holiday season.

I'm not complaining but it is really weird.

Yeah, I was offered Prime when I placed my order yesterday. I said why not and they let me have another trial.

Trial Membership Dates: April 5, 2008 - December 26, 2009.

April 5, 2008 was the last day of my trial last time I had it so I was amazed they let me have a second trial.

Amazon Prime is really a good deal if you buy lots of items from Amazon. If you order 2-3 times a year, don't bother!

With new release titles, they are almost always shipped out on the day before street date (Monday) and I receive them on street date (Tuesday). Amazon Prime guarantees 2-day delivery, but if you live within 200 miles of a shipping warehouse, that translates to next day delivery.

The real beauty is that if you only want one item, it will ship for free--you don't have to wait until you accumulate $25 worth for "free" shipping.

Try Amazon Prime and see if it works for you. The $79 annual fee may seem expensive, but if you order as much as I do it's well worth it!

Around this time last year they had a promotion for Prime $59/year...something about the Ellen Show; which is why I signed up last year.

Really was a godsend last holiday season, ordering gifts last minute, days before x-mas and all but one gift was received on or before the 25th.

It would of cost me at least half of what I paid to sign up to get all my gifts out to their recipients in time.

I'm really hoping a new promotion pops up again for this holiday season, just in time for my renewal. Keep your eyes peeled and don't forget to post if you do find one.

I did had the free trial once and then joined for a year. I cancelled it because Amazon stopped sending my stuff 2 Day. They would send it ground. When I complained, about it, they said they resereve the right to ship it the way they wanted as long as Amazon thought it would get to me in two days. So, I ordered something a couple weeks ago for a Christmas present and was given the option of the free trial again. I did it because Amazon's shipping has been bad lately. I paid for shipping of a BD and it still took over a week to get to me. I didn't want the present arrive after Christmas. They shipped the package immediately, but guess what, it didn't arrive within the two days it was supposed to have arrived. They shipped it ground again. It actually took until this Monday to be delivered. If I paid for it I would have been ticked off. If I had paid for Prime and expected it to be delivered on a certain date, I would be ticked off. I had been cancelling most of my pre-orders with Amazon lately as I have been able to get the items cheaper at local stores without having to wait a week longer.

damn, that's weird. I always get it 2 day ups or fedex, many times next day being that I'm in Tucson and on of their main facilities is in Phoenix

same here, no problems here nor would I ever complain if it arrived on the 3rd day...It happens

For some reason they decided to ship all of my BDs ground and started getting them at about the same time I was getting them before when I just used the free shipping. It wasn't like I was ordering movies every day either, it was about every other week.

Amazon will ship my stuff ground and usually I receive it next day or on the 2nd day. I dont care if its ground or 2 day fedex as long it arrives to me before the promised 2nd day.

I placed an order today and instead of the usual 2-day shipping, they sent it Next Day Air with delivery scheduled for tomorrow. I thought that was pretty cool of them!

The wife and i have been shopping at Amazon.com for over 4 years now and we've had Prime for close to 2 of them. I kid you not, we get just about EVERYTHING from them. From TV's and home entertainment to kitchen appliances and utensils - it's all Amazon. I ordered the HT-S6200 from them this morning and through Prime, i got one day shipping for $3,99 so it'll be here tomorrow.

As stated before, if you only order a few items a year, it's not worth it. However, if you're like us and you get all your Blu-Rays, Games, Electronics etc from them...go for Prime, you'll love it.

Great choice i remember ordering a Onkyo 606 receiver accidentally with 3.99 for overnight shipping! It must of cost em well over that lol Learned my lesson though and turned off 1 click buy and returned the receiver

I got the 3 month free trial 10 days ago and have already made 2 orders , this could be dangerous . Might have to order a year of it once it dries up

I signed up for 3 month free trial about a week ago. Nothing really worth buying, the only movie I bought so far was Troy for $9.99.

I hope Amazon gives us some better deals so I can take advantage of Prime
