Just about every cable company has been raising their rates for years now. Higher rates, crappier programming....

Sorry to hear that. But if you only watch the most popular shows, you could just get a HSI from someone else(not comcast) and get an HTPC, all networks put their shows on their website and most are in HD.

If it wasn't for my daughter wanting CN, and Disney channel, i would have drop my sattelite provider ages ago. I do like Dish, but i watch maybe 40% of the channels, yet i have to pay for all the other crap i dont watch, nor have any interest in. Lucky for my Dish has a HD package only, which it pretty decent.

Now that you mention it, yeah I just noticed! I thought the increase was for an On Demand movie my daughter watched, but there is an extra 5-spot added in there. Bastages.

I agree, something sounds VERY wrong, it's ONLY $5 a month??? You got off easy, last time I had cable, I got wacked with $1 here, $1 there, $0.50 there, etc. etc. etc., added up to about another $15 total a month in nickle and dime add ons.

that sounds a little overboard to me...

seriously... a $205 increase in 4 months??

somethings not right w/ this picture...

and we've had comcast at our household since the early 90s... never seen anything remotely close to what you describe...

Haven't raised prices here since last January. They go up every year. We charged $51.75 for Full Basic service and its now $54.50. DVR rentals went from $11.50 to $13.50 and a few other things changed. Call and ask why the $5 more each month.

They recently increased the interent here a few bucks, but other than that nothing. I personally use Comcast for my connection and DirectTV for sat.

I just received monthly statement today. HD DVR rental fee went up $2.00, from $13.95 to 15.95. Digital Preferred With On Demand including Cinemax package went up $6.50, from $85.99 to $92.49.

If you go to comcast.com and shop for digital cable you will find that:

Digital Preferred --- $74.94 per month.
Digital Preferred & HBO - Online Only Offer --- $87.43 per month.
High-Definition DVR --- $9.99 per month

Last time my HD DVR rental fee increase was in January this year, from $11.95 to 13.95.

Are they going to increase HD DVR rental fee for $2.00 and other packages' price for $5-7 every year?

WTH?

Also Comcast website shows High Definition Television for $8.95 per month, description says:

Quote:
A broad selection of HD content. Unlike satellite, with Comcast you can watch local broadcast channels (like ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX and PBS*) in HD without an antenna. So you can see the prime-time and sports programs that you wanted to watch when you bought an HDTV set. In addition to our HD programming, in many cities Comcast offers the enhanced viewing experience of FOX Widescreen.
Am I paying $9 dollars to watch local channels in HD?

Used to have comcast earlier this year. Garbage. Dropped them and got FIOS. Love it. Verizon has some serious customer service issues, other than that - the service is great.

Our bill is around $220 a month.
