Death Sentence December 23rd???? - Blu-ray Forum

Amazon has Death Sentence listed for release on the 23rd December.

Amazon has been listing imports recently and I'm not sure if this is from another region. Usually there imports have really high prices.

Anyone have any info on this.

Just noticed that in the product review section it states

Import Blu-Ray/Region All pressing.

Anyone know what version this is?

Hmm..

Not the UK version because the cover doesn't match at all, and the UK version is not region free. The French release is also not region free.

The cover looks similar to the German one, which is region free - but it's not identical, and I think the German one has the 105 min cut. There is a Swedish release that is region free, but I've never actually seen the cover, nor do I know what cut it has. It may be that one.

edit: Yup, looks to be the Swedish version - http://www.discshop.se/shop/ds_produ...=movies&&ref=# Although viewing the back cover there shows this is also the 105 min version, so once again Amazon has mislabeled that bit of information (no surprise).

Definitely the import version from Region B. There are actually three different European versions of this BD (UK, Germany, Norway). I suspect this will be the German one as the UK one does not play on American BD players.

I nearly bought this online today before I realized something was up with it being so tough to track down in stores the other day.

So I have two questions. First, it says all-region, is it really as simple as that? Do I need an all region player like the DVD days or will this work on my regular Sony Blu-ray player?

Second, has Death Sentence been announced for a regular US release any time recently? If it's on the horizon, I'll just hold off until then.

No, it hasn't been announced. It did poorly at the box office, so it will probably be a while before there's a U.S. release.
