Default Is Band of Brothers worth a Blind Buy?

I've taken note of the fact that the BoB bluray set has received great reviews, but for everyone that owns it...is it worth a blind buy? in other words, besides the amazing PQ/AQ/acting/story/etc, are the episodes something you would watch more than once? I know it's on sale right now but I still don't want to dish out $40 on something I might watch all the way through once and then have no desire to rewatch.

obviously everyone's opinion is different, but if the majority of people have found the set worthy of multiple viewings id be more interested in picking it up. thanks!

I have watched it at least a dozen times already (including the DVD). Everyone should own this BD!

It's a no-brainer blind buy. I bought my original DVD copy about 6 years ago and I have since watched the entire thing multiple times (probably at least 6-8 times completely through). When I found out it was on Blu-ray I bought it again and gave my DVD copy away, and have sinced watched the blu-ray version twice through already. So for me at least the episodes and the series as a whole has been good enough to watch it over and over again. And each time I watch it I find myself catching new details and things that only make it more interesting.

Absolutely...one of the best BDs going. Highly recommend it. The picture and audio quality can't be beat. And, best of all, the price has come down dramatically A must have in your collection for sure...

You won't find a better WWII 'movie'. If you enjoy the war genre, you will find excellent replay value. Over ten hours of story in 1080p, great character development along with tense action. Go for it before the Amazon price disappears.

This is the single biggest no brainer out there. I'm finishing up my first Blu run, and it's my 7th time through overall. It gets better each time. The under 40 price is stealing for this kind of quality. Nike this one!!

^^^^^ What he said and everyone else here has said, 10x over!! RUN don't Walk to your nearest store or Amazon ordering, just go do it now! -- Great amazing story, acting, action, emotion, plus each episode has REAL-LIFE accounts from some of the men that were there. Incredibly emotional accounts or great stories from the MEN who were there.

I bought mine a few weeks ago, and am days away from getting my player and this set will be one of the First ones watched. (I ordered the Panasonic BD35, Best Buy sale: $249--currently Out of Stock)

Ummm...yes.

More than just watching it again, I'd recommend viewing it once, then reading the Ambrose book, then going back and watching it again. You'll see so many things that might have seemed insignificant or that didn't make sense at the time.

Without a doubt. I saw this OnDemand the first time and loved it. It's right up there with Lonesome Dove in my all-time favorite mini-series list. And it's easily on par with Saving Private Ryan as a WWII film. I bought the DVD set when it was on sale earlier this year. That didn't stop me from jumping at the $37 sale price for the blu-ray version, and I'm not that big on upgrading movies I already own (there's plenty of blu-rays I want that I don't have on DVD). Now I'm just trying to decide what to do with the DVD set.

BoB was my most rewatched DVD and will probably be the same with the Blu-ray. Even my dad, who rarely watches anything twice, has found Band of Brothers very rewatchable.
