USA Opinions,Critises, on my HT contruction

Just wanted your opinion on my HT construction. after seeing all the great ones other people had, wanted some input. I am taking up the whole basement for this so it should look really good when i am done. let me know what you think. Tennitive specs are 55'' - 75 '' LCD or LED, PS3, 7.1 SS Sony Reciever, Polk Audio Speakers. The photos were taken about 2 weeks ago and a few things have changed. i will post new pics later. thanks for any ratings or opinions.

How big is the HT room going to be? Looks like it's the space where you have the Tier seating started, so it looks a bit long which means one thing: 1080p PROJECTOR! - Throw that 55-75" TV idea out the door, errr, the "Escape Hatch" ! (classic btw ) - What Speakers are you planning to go with? Also, you prob. have room for 7.1 unless you just want or plan on doing a 5.1 set-up.

I'm sure we all look forward to the progression of your HT and the PICS as you go! Good luck.

Thanks for the message.... the floor to ceiling is to short for a projector and the one i want would be about $4k yes i am planning on doing a 7.1 with RM 8 polk speakers. it is 2 tired seating, couch on the floor and 2-3 capt chairs on the top tier. The entire space is about 1000-1200 sq ft, plus i am putting a bar and a bathroom down there as well but the main viewing room is 612 sq ft.

Oh okay - sounds good either way then. What's the Room dimensions, & are you using the RM8's (here) for the 4 Rear Surrounds & diff. models for your Center/Fronts/Sub? For the Room size, you could either use 2 Subs (like some of us here have), or were you planning on something more substantial like the ED A2-300 or HSU maybe?

From the look in his gallery, I would say around 7 feet considering there is a drop down ceiling..... ?

The room is about 26 ft wide by 20 ft deep and about 7'5 high. i was going to hide the sub and center channel in the red box under the screen area. can't really see the box well in the current pics but i will provide beters ones.

My set-up is in a basement that has only a 7' high ceiling and about the same dimensions as yours that are used for my HT "area" (long story). But I still think, if placed correctly, that I could have a projector. I have drywall as my ceiling, but I know what you mean about the height issue. I believe you may see a pic or 2 in my gallery as to the height of my basement. However, I need to do a lot of reasearch before I will pull the trigger on a projector.

(dreaming if I had a HT room That size... ) -- I've seen some projectors almost "flush-mounted" in the ceiling so the drop down was only 6" or less, if you could pull that off - just an idea.

Umm, if that happens - be sure to send the invites out 1-2 months in advance for Movie Night!
