Default I had the pleasure of seeing Slumdog Millionaire today!

HOLY CRAP! Amazing film! Easily the best of the year for me now! Not to mention the amazing score! Crim, I want to hear your thoughts on this too!

I had to drive over three hours for a business trip, and I had a couple hours free time and I was lucky enough to see it in a theater! I'm gonna get the score too! And I thought Ben Button was good! I only have a couple of movies left on my list.

Let the Right one in
Gran Torino
Frost/Nixon
The Reader
and Revolutionary Road.

I heard RR was weak though.

Let The Right One In is by far the best vampire film I have seen.

Gran Torino I see tomorrow

F/N is not here yet

The Reader is the best WW2 era film of the year out of the 1K released

RR has great performances by Leo and Winslett but the film itself seemed bland and to go nowhere for me.

I missed Frost/Nixon when it played here, so I've got to wait for the BD. Same with Let the Right One in.

I see Gran Torino tomorrow as well. I was surprised that I liked Valkyrie as a Guilty Pleasure.

I didnt think Valkyrie was a bad fun film or whatever, I was kinda let down because it was nowhere near as suspenseful as I was expecting.

I'd still put Wall-E as my favorite movie of the year.

My top 4 being:

Wall-E
Slumdog Millionaire
The Dark Knight
The Wrestler

But I have a lot left to see. Benjamin Button and Gran Torino will be today/tomorrow. At some point I'd like to see Milk, Doubt, and Revolutionary Road. I don't really care to see Frost/Nixon.

Yeah, I guess so. I was captivated the entire time, so I guess it wasn't that bad. But the BRITISH NAZI'S annoyed me to no end.

2008 was a fantastic year for movies. I still like The Dark Knight the most. However I have not seen Slumdog Millionaire, Milk, RR, and The Wrester yet. However, as I catch up with these new movies I keep knocking my other favorites off of my top 5 and 10 list (poor In Bruges). I just loved Grand Torino, Curious Case of BB and The Reader and they moved solidly in my top 5 or 10 list. As for CGI, I find myself returning to Kung Fu Panda ofter because it is such a good movie and the BD performance (PS/SQ) is just awesome.

2009 has a lot to live up to.

Sean Penn is the best I have seen all year, but I have yet to see F/N and The Wrestler and I knwo those 2 are supposed to have powerhouse performances in them as well.

I need to see more of his works, I have seen SM, 28 Days, and Sunshine and thats it...and its enough for me to consider him one of the better if not best directors around right now.

+1

I love Danny Boyle and I really don't think there is another director who can cross genres as seamlessly as he can working today.

I suggest, Trainspotting, Shallow Grave, Millions, and The Beach. A lot of people did not like 'The Beach' but I thought it was great. unfortunately I don't think any of these are available on BLU yet, but that's what netflix is for
