Default Surge protectors and extension cords

Okay i have a tripp lite surge protector.i have no active the only problem is that i can only connect it useing an extension cord.im talking a heavy duty extension cord (orange) though will i lose picture quality will my gear still be protected.

you'll be as protected as you ever were..
you need a 14 ga or 12 gauge cord, will be marked on side

no change, a 14 or 12 gauge extention cord is the same as your house wiring
