Default A JVC 42 inch 1080P LCD with built in profile 2.0 BLU-RAY player for $699 in May.

A JVC 42 inch 1080P LCD with built in profile 2.0 BLU-RAY player for $699 in May would be a excellent deal. I wonder if the price will be raised before it is released.

"JVC also unveiled the LT-42B300 combination LCD TV/Blu-ray player, offering a 42-inch screen size with Full 1080p resolution and a built-in Blu-ray Disc player with BD-Live support. The company said it wasn’t sure at this time if the model will include 1GB of built-in memory for the BD-Live system or if add-on memory will be required to meet the full Profile 2.0/BD-Live spec. The Blu-ray combo set is due to ship in May at a $699 estimated retail, said Karl Bearnarth, JVC marketing senior VP"

I agree, Maybe it really is $1699 and the price is a mis-print. Of course combo units can be made cheaper.

I guess since it's a 2.0 BD player the TV/BD will have an ethernet connection to use BD-Live & for firmware updates??? $699 would be a steal!

Yes the BLU-RAY player/TV combo would have a ethernet connection on the back of the TV for BD-LIVE and firmware updates. Hopefully 1GB of memory will be built in. Hopefully some of the combo TV/players will offer true 24fps refresh rates like 48HZ, 72HZ, 96HZ, etc. At this price the TV might be 60HZ only.
