Blu-ray clearly has the advantage in capacity over HD/DVD. Well it now has Entertainment, Computer, Electronics, and gaming companies signed up. So what other clear and marketable differences does Blu-ray have?

Since Blu-ray has more capacity it doesn't need to compress video and audio as much so it will have better overall video and audio. Also, since Blu-ray has only a .1 mm protective layer compared to the .6 mm protective layer of DVD and HD DVDs, Blu-ray has been forced to add a scratch resistant coating that will make Blu-rays more scratch resistant than regular DVD and HD DVD discs. Finally, 100 GB Blu-rays have already been announced and 200 GB Blu-rays are under development, so Blu-ray has a more promising upgrade path in the future. (That's 200 GB per side!)
