So after seeing the poll for Best Zombie movie it got me thinking about how the Horror genre has what I feel, the most remakes out of any other genre. So then I was thinking, how all of them have been just a bastardized version of the original. So here it is: The Poll for The Worst Horror Remakes of all Time. Let the discussion begin.

Friday the 13th...

IMO, this movie was too dark (movie theaters suck!), way too predictable, and seemed like The Hills meets Camp Crystal Lake. None of the kill scenes were innovative. There are way more, but I just woke up, so give me a while.

Just venting, sorry!

Wicker Man. I don't consider it horror, but that's the section it's in most stores. Or maybe Pulse. Loved the original, but took three tries to finish the remake.

Halloween was horrible. Sorry, but the entire back story of Michael becoming who he was from growing up in a redneck abusive family was laughable. Great dialogue Rob.

I'm not sure if Wicker Man is a remake, but my goodness that movie sucked. For me the worst I've seen is 666. Compare it to the original, and it makes one ask....why?

Sorry I jumped the gun before the poll options... I chose House of Wax because Paris Hilton SUCKS! as an actress, as a slut, and pretty much as a human being!

I remember watching the original with my father and being scared shitless of wax figures... now I just want to punch them in the jaw!

For anyone who has seen Black Christmas remake I mean the original is amazing and this remake is a joke thought it does have one of the best one liners in a movie ever..."Santas dead the Russians shot his sleigh down" haha. But anyone who has seen this hunk of junk would agree I should think.

The Fog and Prom Night were absolute trash......The Fog was just boring, Prom Night made me want to find the director and punch him in the face.

I voted for Black Christmas also it was just plain horrible. There are too many on that list that I could have voted for and I am sad to say that I saw many of them, at least there are only a couple on the list that I purchased blindly, the others were rentals or I borrowed from friends.

The new Friday the 13th just didn't seem like a Friday the 13th movie, Jason just wasn't Jason to me and I think that is what some people say about the Halloween remake too (I actually kinda liked that one and I hate Zombie's other movies).

I shudder to think of all the time I wasted watching them.
After all this crap, I refuse to see another remake, including Americanizations of foreign horror films. I will seek out the originals instead. I will only watch the new versions if they receive good reviews and I can rent it through Netflix.

my 2 cents--

PSYCHO is the worst hands down-- simply because of how unnecessary
it was-- it didn't offer a single new idea from a classic movie with the
exception of Vince Vaughn getting his jollies while Marion Crane took a
shower (a lousy touch)

Didn't care for HALLOWEEN (crude and offensive), THE FOG (lame and misguided), THE HAUNTING (dull and not scary at all).

TEXAS CHAINSAW, AMITYVILLE HORROR, and HILLS HAVE EYES were all
very good remakes.

AMITYVILLE HORROR was hilarious for the fact that you could turn how many times Ryan Reynolds had his shirt off into a drinking game.
