Is the UK BD of Event Horizon vertically stretched like the US one?

05-06-2010 was my last post.

Freakily I had the same reaction to seeing the title again..'I will post about ..in the mouth..' (probably because they both feature very disturbing dark scene's where you own imagination can run away inside you head, what is coming!!!!1)

My dvd copy of both films will do. Sorry film industry, you take too long. You ask to much & for those two reasons. I won't be dipping into my pocket to please your latest update.

£3-5 yep then I'll update both.

Yup. Paramount released this worldwide and the BD is derived from the vertically stretched master that was also used for the previous 2-disc special edition DVD.

Yeah, now that they found a VHS copy of the original director's cut in a salt mine in Transylvania. Or something like that.

There's a German steelbook. I doubt it's a new transfer though!

Its no classic but its definitely a fun scary watch. Danny Boyle obviously watched it whilst making Sunshine...which was a mistake.

The US will be getting a new Shout Factory release in September (based on new 4K scan), shame their releases are region A locked. Hopefully there will be a region B equivalent release.

In space, you will be hearing many screams as we unleash 1997’s gruesome EVENT HORIZON on an upgraded & definitive Blu-ray release this Fall! Details we have currently are as follows:

• National street date for North America (Region A) is planned for Sept 29th. Please note that the date could change as we are still experiencing a domino effect from the COVID situation--which has caused numerous delays for earlier releases in our schedule, as you have seen We’ll do our best to keep this date of course, but we’re still in an unprecedented time in which getting access to talent for extras or setting up film transfers are more challenging than they were before. We appreciate your understanding now and in advance and hopefully there will be some stabilization.

• This is being presented as a Collector’s Edition release and will come guaranteed with a slipcover in its first three months of release.

• The newly commissioned artwork you see pictured comes to us from artist Joel Robinson. This art will be front-facing and the reverse side of the wrap will feature the original theatrical artwork.

• New extras are in progress and will be announced on a later date (Aug timing, and also depending on current events). We can confirm today that we are doing a new 4K scan of the film! As for any much-inquired-about additional footage (in addition to what's be presented on prior releases), we are looking into it as best we can. We welcome any leads you may have alongside our efforts.

Pre-order now @ https://www.shoutfactory.com/product...roduct_id=7436, the first 500 orders will include an exclusive limited-edition 18” x 24” rolled poster of the exclusive new illustration.

I am actually happy it's a US only release because it means maybe someone else will release it in Europe with a different artwork.

That new artwork is indeed ghastly. SF usually features the original artwork on the reverse side, though.

I don't own any SF releases but from what I've seen, their commissioned covers leave a LOT to be desired. That EH one is one of the worst offenders yet, there's a thousand things going on in it and none of it feels even slightly cohesive. Poor stuff.
