Default What are some good games for me

Here is my background history

I had PS1 and PS2 then slowly migrated to the original Xbox and then Xbox360 which i like. I also still have the PS3 but only used it for bluray movie viewinig. Now my Xbox360 live gold membership has expired and i'm thinking hey why not just get Ps3 games as online is free.

My problems:
I am crap with the Ps3 controller, the left analog stick kills me and the right analog is awkward.. maybe i'm just to use to the xbox360's i dunno.

corrections:
Amazon has a wireless controller that has left analog stick moved to match xbox360's but has no motion sensor... or i have someone who for $200 will make me a PS360 controller (but these are my choices)

My Question To You Folks:
What games are worth me looking into? I liek the COD series i have COD5 on Xbox360 is it the same on PS3? I like FPS and the odd game like Fallout/Oblivion.. I just rented Killozne2 and so far i'm not liking it due to the controls (but that could change once i get use to them or grab one of the above controllers) I don't play the single player portion of any game (no time) i just do the online thing. I use to own Resisatnce2 but sold it, i liked the game but againi the controls... so maybe getting a controller is a start for me

I've read bad reviews for Socum (excuse spelling) so any advice would help, i want to use PS3 for gaming and not have to bother with my Xbox360 anymore

the last ga,es i actually got loads of enjoyment out of were:
Xbox360's Battlefield 2 Modern Combat & COD4

sounds like a controller issue since most cross platform games are equal on both consoles now. Have you tried the cross battle adapter go to xcmlive.com and it a plug and play device that lets you use your 360 controller with the ps3 granted it has to be plugged in. or go to ps3-hacks.com and search for the mod where you gut the ps3 and 360 controller and switch the insides. killzone 2 and resistence 2 are my current favs along with prince of persia also rainbow six vegas 2.

yeah i know, the xcm cross battle doesn't obviously have motion sensor. The ben hack mod PS360 controller seems to complicated but i have a guy who charges $200 for one. which i'm willing to pay if its worth it (xboxlive gold is $60 year)

Try the option 2 control scheme for Killzone 2. I've heard it's the most similar to the COD controls.

I would also suggest trying Metal Gear Solid 4 and Uncharted: Drakes Fortune. Both are fantastic games that you'd probably enjoy.

Sorry to hear about your trouble with the PS3 controls. I have the opposite problem - the 360's controls are too big and clunky for me.

It has Metal Gear Online.

Since you like shooters I would say Killzone 2 (It's not just your controller issue, you also have to turn up the sensitivity if you are used to CoD. R2 is just mediocre imo.

If you're used to playing COD4 online, or other run and gun shooters, you probably won't like Metal Gear Online. It's deliberately slow, since stealth play is the name of the game. If you try running and gunning in that game you'll die quickly. It's all about stalking, crawling, and hiding - none of which is fast.

THIS. I turned mine 1 away from maximum and it's much better now. You still need to put in the time but it's worth it. KZ2 multiplayer looks amazing.

It just takes time to get used to the controller, as well. I'm an old man (but not that old). I had to turn sensitivity down, because I was not able to target the crosshairs in Drake's Fortune or Fallout 3. I got my PS3 in November as a reponse to my wife's Wii purchase, and it's my first game machine since I owned an Atari 2600. Believe me, you'll get used to the controls faster than I did.

I came from PC gaming, and never thought I'd enjoy using anything but keyboard and mouse combo for FPS games.

But the original Resistance taught me otherwise. And now I actually prefer the PS3 controller for FPS. I'm just as deadly with the thing if not more than I ever was with a mouse... without having to do that shuffle thing when you run out of mouse pad.

Just give it some time. You'll get use to the PS3 controller. It's just different stick layout is all. (And more sensible, imho as symmetrical hands deserve symmetrical controllers)

It won't be long before you could go back and forth between the controllers at will and not even blink.
