Default Sound insulation help

I live in 2 story house and my right next neighbor is only 15 feet away from my wall. My system is on second floor and everytime I watched movie, they'll call me to lower the volume. Any suggestions to minimize the vibration other than lowering my volume. Thanks.

That sucks. Man, 8 O'clock is early!!! You wouldn't think they would have a problem that early in the night.

what is your home made of? Wood siding? Vinyl? Brick?

When was it built? What type of windows, etc.

We are having insulation blown into our walls (which I'm sure will help sound) but our main goal is energy efficiency... My theater is on the 3rd floor, and I've turned it up pretty loud, and you can't hear it at all outside...... My theater is well insulated etc because it has crawl spaces etc. like a typical attic....

If I turn a radio on in one of our second floor rooms, you can hear it outside quite easily even at moderate levels.....

I'd get heavy curtains to start. They block, as well as absorb sound, and I'm guessing most of the audio is heard by the neighbor through your windows, as well as through hers......

My house was built in 2003 with plastic vinyl, double pane windows. Maybe I should start inviting them to watch. Anyway, thanks for the advice.

If you have a HOA, call them. They should have the hours for noise.

id put a carpet under the sub THEn put some wall treatments up along the wall you share with them.

pesky/annoyed neighbors are the worst

screw the HOA, go talk to the neighbor directly and ask if its the loudness or the bass that bothers them.

I'm moving into an apartment soon, and I'm pretty terrified that this is going to happen to me.
