i'm not a fan of the transformers movie(s) at all, but bay has obviously done a great job giving fans what they want (at least it seems like that to me). paramount would be foolish to hire a new director just because bay wants some time off from the series. 3 back to back movies of this caliber is an extremely excruciating process for any director.

i really don't think he'll leave this franchise, esp. if fallen does well this summer....i'm thinking it'll pull in 300+ mil. domestically and probably 750ish worldwide.

hopefully if it does well, the studio will realize that bay has a lot to do w/it.

+1 There's no hurry to make another sequel if the previous one is very successful.

I loved Transformers. Bay is the perfect type of director for these movies. Loud, explosions, etc. I think this will depend on how well the new movie does.

+1 I agree. If anything, we appreciate the film more when there is a gap between the movies. Also, if a sequel is not rushed, the chances of it being a higher quality are better.

+1 Maybe the Transformers franchise will end up like Star Wars! Michael Bay and George Lucas will team up to make 4 more sequels.

3 is not too much, most good movie franchises will have a trilogy. 4 will be pushing it for this type of movie

I actually think it will go 6, just like Shrek because Dreamworks sucks at coming up with original ideas lately.

Bay already blogged that the date of the next movie was initially listed incorrectly as 2011. He said the real date is 2012. He needs a year off...I say give it to him.

Well by the looks of it we are gonna need a third because it has been said that the second one is gonna close really dark with the autobots actually losing, so we cant end the franchise like that can we. And yes I think Bay should get a year off, and third should not be rushed. I was a lil skeptical when I heard how quickly the second one was coming out.

They could put out 20 Transformers movies, and I'd see each of them in the theater on opening day. I don't even care who directs it.

That being said, I hope the next one is good. I loved the first one, and I felt they ended the movie in the perfect way in that it could have been fine as a singular title; or that they could continue the series due to the fact that we know some of the Decepticons were alive still. It ended very similarly to the first Jurassic Park: you could easily continue it, or you could just end it right there. Fortunately for us, they're continuing it.

honestly I thought the movie was horrible and I think Michael Bay ruined the movie which he seems to be good at lately. All of his close-up, disorienting shots were making me sick. The CGI was allright and the acting was horrible. "I cant wait to get back home to see my baby girl." "ooops....my bad" when the transformer steps on something. Come on!!! The best thing that movie had going for it was the trailer. This is coming from a fan of transformers, i watched the cartoon every saturday as a kid. just my .02 guys!
