Question Blindness BD Import

Good Evening everyone! I'd like to discuss about Blindness and its miss on Blu-ray.

Sadly enough the U.S region will in fact be blinding this title from the HD world (for now). However, Canadians and other countries are getting their hands on this title. It's only 4 days left for Canadians to get the BD version (and we dvd only ), but has their been early import reviews on it? And if someone knows what would be the better import version to acquire, if lets say U.S folks decided to import this title.

Thank you all!

Sorry I don't have an answer for you.
But I am pissed! that they canceled the blu release.
I just rented the DVD last night and I really like this movie.

Miramax better not screw "Doubt" from a blu release either.
Lame.

I got a press kit from Miramax recently that said Blindness would be released on Blu this year. Guess it will just be late.

Considering Doubt is up for an Oscar I'm sure they'll get it out the door on DVD and Blu as soon as they can, especially if it wins. Blindness I guess was a bit of a critical and box office disappointment (it was boo'd at Cannes I think) so it stands to reason it would be delayed. I still want to see it though since City of God was great & The Constant Gardner was pretty good. Might wait for the US release of Blindness as for a Canadian import, it's pretty expensive.

Well I just saw Blindness on DVD and the first preview that plays is "Doubt" highly marketed as "Coming soon to DVD & Blu-Ray". I swear they mentioned this like 3 times in the trailer lol.

I really hope they do bring "Blindness" on blu later this year. I'm not a fan of buying imports.

There is rumblings on many sites (thehdroom and thedigitalbits rumor mill) that Doubt is in fact getting released in April. I don't think Miramax would mess up releasing this one. I have a feeling that the day and dates that Miramax missed will see release later this year.

Well it definitely was planned for Blu-ray release day and date, but all we can really do is speculate. If you notice the trailer on Pretty Woman, they actually say 'Now available on DVD and Blu-ray' after the preview lol. Did you import it Lee? I am curious how the import is.

I'm not sure there really is a Canadian version. Amazon.ca showed a Taxi Driver BD pre-order up until Feb. 3rd, and now they just say "out of stock" - but there's clearly no Taxi Driver BD in the US or Canada. Time will tell if it's the same situation with Blindness.

There's definitely a Japanese version coming April 3rd (artwork, specs, etc. all already released). It's from Sony, and it has both English and Japanese TrueHD and subtitles, so it should be a winner. If a Canadian release comes out next Tuesday, great - but the Japanese one is a much surer bet at the moment.

The Japanese cover art looks really good and TrueHD is a definite plus but damn those Japanese imports are expensive.

The BD version of Blindess shows it currently unavailable on Amazon CA. Does anyone know if it is going to be released?

I will go and beat their offices if they pull Doubt from blu... they are supposed to be killing DVD's already.. I wouldnt buy the Blindess DVD if I know a blu exists.. I didnt like Blindness, but for those who did, they want to see it in the best quality.
