I know there's already an American Idol thread but I didn't create it so I can't slap a poll onto it. Who do you pick as the winner of Season 8?

This has been going on for 8 years!

Let's look at American Idol's competition in the same timeslot.
1) NCIS(navy drama) on cbs.
2) Outrageous(reality videos) on nbc.
3) Dancing with the stars(reality show) on abc
4) Antiques Roadshow on pbs(public).
5) American Idol on fox.
6) Street Patrol(cops knock-off) or syndicated sitcom that most people never heard of from Tyler Perry( he does those movies in drag as a black grandmother Madea films) on independent channels.

I didn't include pay tv or foreign language simply due to inaccessibility for millions of homes.

American Idol's ratings are over 20 million. Demise of network television can be attributed to cable + satellite. Just thought you should know as a tv viewer myself, my choices suck to begin with.

I vote for Allison Iraheta.

She didn't sing any Aerosmith or "Come Together." That goes a LONG way in my book.

Actually she did. She sang the lame Aerosmith song from "Armageddon".

My family are huge American Idol Fans! I think they want kris to win, so that is who i voted for....

As for the shows above. NCIS is actually really good.

I will tell myself she was forced to do that against her will. No self respecting person would do so willingly. She must not have been old enough to know that better movies with better songs from better bands existed.

I hope Lambert wins. I can't even believe the other dude made it this far. So generic, but then again -- this IS American Idol and I am aware of the demographic it targets.
