Lately about 1/2 of the blu-rays I receive from Netflix are unplayable. I've checked my Panasonic DMP-BD35 and it's firmware is up to date and plays any of my blu-rays just fine.
I've cleaned the blu-rays I have had trouble with using a microfiber cloth. Visually there are very few defects but when playing them I get a lot of pixelation and those "stepping lock-ups" that you get when blu-rays can"t read a disc. Has ones else had problems with Netflix blu-rays? Dave in TX |

I also use the BD35 and get Netflix Blu-Ray's regularly, with no problems. I wonder if you have old firmware on the BD35?
And yes, Netflix is totally worth it! I rarely buy Blu-Rays unless there's something that I know I'll watch more than once. For the price of buying 1 Blu-Ray disc, you can have a 4-at-a-time Netflix plan, which means taht you can always have 4 DVDs sitting at home ready to be watched. And even if you only watch 1 or 2 Blu's per week, you've watched 8 at the end of the month for that $24ish vis buying 8 at $25 apiece.... huge savings. |

I have played netflix blus on both the Sony BDP-S350 and 550 with no mayor problems. Only Appaloosa gave me some trouble. And Having Netflix is the only way to watch as many as I want without having to blind-buy. If I really like the movie, then I buy it.

I have been thinking of signing up, but I've seen some people complaining of not having the newest releases available and waiting a long time to get them, are you all getting new releases as they come out?
thanks frank |

So if you have a 2 out at a time plan make sure you only have 1 disc at home and they have received the other one by Monday. That way by Tuesday afternoon you will have the new release. If you keep up on your queue you will have no problem with it. |

Handling your queue like the person above me said should keep you from having many problems getting new releases. As far as Blu-Rays go, that was really only a problem when Netflix first started renting them. Now they seem to be better with getting Blu-Rays when they come out.

As frustrating as that is, I can then go online and get a replacement ordered, which will ship the next day, and be at my house the day after that. That still beats the situation I had with Blockbuster, where movies would take 3 days to reach my house after shipping. |
