Default Recommend a Sub for my Energy Speakers

If you check out my HT gallery, I have a 3.0 setup. Right now I'm thinking of getting a sub in the near future. Based on my HT pics, if I was going to get a sub.. I was going to put it on the right side (corner). Here's my current setup.

-Marantz SR5002 AV Surround Receiver
-Energy C-100 Front Speakers (pair)
-Energy C-C50 Center Speaker

I'm not looking for anything crazy as far as heavy bass. Just something that's fairly cheap (under $200?). I was thinking of getting a refurb Energy Sub to stick with the brand but there's different types. Thanks in advance for the help.

I use a PA-120 and love it! Great for h-t and can be had for $229 shipped.

It depends if you listen to more music, or want more h-t experience.

for music, a Mirage s8 is great.

for h-t, look at pa-120, bic f12, h100

ebay is only place right now

pa-120

I would rule out the h100 because its more than the pa-120, and not as good.

another is the Acoustic Audio HD sub12. Very similar to the pa-120 and sligtly cheaper. However the build quality is not as good as the pa-120

hd-sub12

The Mirage Prestige s8 is a nice 8" sub. Much tighter bass, but not the extension if you want a better h-t experience.

You can look at the Energy offerings, but I think there is others that are better for the money.

The best if you can spend a little more is a Elemental Designs A2-300. Awesome for the money.

A2-300

For less than $200, Acoustic Audio is your best bet. Premier Acoustics is also very good, but it will cost you slightly over $200. We have threads for these two subs. Read the comments by other members.

I use the Acoustic Audio HD-Sub10 with my Energy Speakers and they work very well together in both music and HT.

That was the first one that I was looking at. I was thinking about that one because of the price. Good to know you like them.

I was considering both once too, and Big Daddy turned me onto the AA Subs and I honestly am really happy with it, it gets lower extension (20hz vs 28hz) and has a more powerful amp (300 RMS 600 peak vs 200 RMS 400 peak). Honestly I don't think you would be unhappy either way, but the AA would be my vote.

That's great! I beleive it's also cheaper than the Energy Sub. Thanks a lot!
