best buy return policy, no receipt

I know best buy used to let you return one item a year if you had no receipt, does anyone know if they still have this policy? If so, are there any restrictions?

did you pay for the item with debit/credit card? if so they can print you a new one.

I returned a modem/router today that didn't work, might want to ask the gift giver for a receipt, unless you think it would offend them.

Are you sure it came from BB? Because if it's a Wal-Mart item you can return it there with no receipt. They'll give you a Wal-Mart gift card instead of cash though.

if the item was bought using a reward zone number, you can have them look up the purchase by phone number...I think you now get 6 months and will get a store credit as long as they still sell the item

really? walmart up here doesn't accept without receipt anymore.

As far as I know anyway. I haven't heard of a policy change, but that doesn't mean there hasn't been one.
